Ooh, my Dad just text to say I have a parcel (everything gets delivered there lol). Must be my foam floor mats so I can start blocking knitting things properly. Now I just need to work out how to keep a naughty cat away from it
Have told him what happens to curious cats but he doesn't seem fazed!

Lay them on a table perhaps?
Sorry if that's a daft suggestion, but have no idea what foam mats for blocking knitting things means! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Some knitted pieces can roll up a bit - blocking makes them nice and flat. Similar principle to ironing really. Can be done with steam, or by wetting things then pinning them out flat to dry. You can buy expensive blocking boards for this, but I've got some A-Z kids floor mats from ebay. So if I get bored with knitting I can play with them lol.
Am thinking I'll try to get it set up in the spare room then jam the door closed as much as I can. None of the doors in my house actually close for some reason.0 -
What sort of things do you knit, tea? I have tried knitting so many times but somehow I pull tighter and tighter on the needles so after a while I cant get the stitches off. I have always wanted knitted things.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I love sewing but don't have the patience to knit *blush*
I do make jewellery (glass dome) and am looking for inspiration to make more. Maybe little bottles or something.
Need my mojo back and fast...!

Ahhh I am so nervous about this phone call!! Anyone got advice? I get giggly when I'm nervous and come across as a total airhead because I forget words too.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I used to have that problem when I first started WaS - my mum used to despair of the horrible squeaking sound coming from the needles!
I mainly make baby clothes and blankets. Which probably sounds a bit weird all things considered but I love it! Obviously I'm at an age where my friends keep popping out little people so always handy for gifts. A lot of it goes to various charities too.
Make things like gloves, scarfs, hats for myself and charity.
Make some toy sort of things - like the jelly babies and the holly wreath, and things like flower brooches. Will shortly be starting a spring wreath (am thinking green background, daffodils, and maybe a little chicken hidden in the flowers)
Which reminds me - I have a pink jelly baby whitewingwould littlewing be interested? Would be happy to post if so
I love knitting, as you can tell I love talking about it as much as I love doing it!0 -
Is this with the agency code? If so, my advice would be have a copy of your CV to hand (amazing what you forget!) and have a drink of water with you. Other than that - relax! It's just a chat. Will send calming thoughts!0

Ooooh, if you get bored with knitting other things could I have a jelly baby please, tea? I will pay for materials and postage? I have never had a knitted toy!
Make notes, code! Sometimes when I have to make a phone call I write out whole sentences in advance and read them out. I am just like you, I giggle and make jokes and forget words, the more nervous WaS gets the more WaS overcompensates and comes across as a giggling, overenthusiastic wreck!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Without meaning to sound like a right @rselicker, I would genuinely be honoured! Think of it as my v late contribution to the hamper
I joined the thread just after that and it really brought a tear to my eye, the whole idea was so lovely.
Any colour preference?0
