Because I can - it's easy to differentiate between the stuff currently being sold by dealer a and dealer b, solid, whether it's been adulterated with legal herbals or other substances and how fresh it is, as well as how many days ago it was smoked or whether they were just in the same room as a smoker.
I'm not even going anywhere near the morality issues; just don't claim nobody can tell, because you can.
If you can tell how old weed is by the smell, when it was smoked and if they smoked it themselves or someone else did then I'd say you are a 'super special snowflake'. In fact I'd suggest contacting a scientist about your ultra smelling ability or look into a career as a sniffer dog.
As for people being able to tell, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. My own personal experience tells me otherwise. I'm not denying it smells while it's being smoked but it soon disappears and there is no way someone without your super sensitive sense of smell can tell days after the event.0 -
Everything else aside, you know what the answer is. You need to stop.
For my money you might as well do it all at one go, give up smoking full stop. There are lots of programmes out there to help you with this or go to your GP. I would think your wife would be delighted with this outcome anyway.
Would this not be a good time to stay out of the shed for a while? You must get cold out there!0 -
Also does your wife not find it strange that instead of going to bed with her, you pop out to the shed for some after dark alone time every Saturday night?
How do you explain what you're doing?0 -
Interesting thread about people commenting on the smell. I would like to ask how they know what he smells like? It does smell I can spot it a mile off, I know this as I smoked it when I was young. I was recently in town with a work colleague when someone walked passed smoking it, I made a point of sniffing the air a few times and said something along the lines of how can people get away with smoking in the high street, their reply was they are allowed to, smoking is only banned in pubs and restaurants. I didn't comment further as I didn't want to come across as a crazed drug addict but it was clear they had no idea what it was and just thought it was a normal cigarette.
So I can believe some people do not recognise the smell I mean how would they know if it has not been explained to them what it is.0 -

Although it's not smoked as widely as regular cigarettes it's still commonplace enough to be a recognisable smell to most people. I find it very surprising that any adult wouldn't know the smell to be honest, unless they have an unusually bad sense of smell.0 -

I must admit I was a bit surprised that this person did not know the smell it made me feel a bit ashamed that I did. It wasn't due to the fact they couldn't smell it, I am sure they could they just didn't seem to know that the smell was something that shouldn't be smoked.0 -
My ex housemate smoked weed like a chimney, it stank the whole house out. 2 of my housemates swear they've never smoked it but knew what the smell was, i knew because in my misspent youth i wasn't a stranger to it
That said i also beleive some people might not know based om personal expereince of turning up home stoned once and my mum assuming i was drunk, despite the fact she's an ex smoker so i'd habe thought she'd have picked up on any odd smells (maybe she did and was in denial)

Nope. I'm just somebody who used to smoke the stuff occasionally and was around people who smoked regularly.
Regarding useage for pain relief, it requires, as with any medication/substance being used without a specific prescribed doseage or potency, being aware of potential risks. It's easier to be careful with it in a Vapouriser because you can stop after a couple of tokes, compared to the more common hashcake approach, where, if someone's had too much, there's nothing can be done about it other than wait for the effects to run their course - but it's still an unregulated substance of variable levels of THC and partaking of it in a way which is so easy (compared to the burn/spluttering of a bong hit, which slows consumption down, for example) makes it easy to overcook it.
As for houses that stink of it, it could be the media dream of an innocent little old lady growing what she thinks is a striking foliage plant and the smell coming out in the sunshine, but it's just as likely to be users or, if the occupants never seem to be having a regular life, a house being used as a farm.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Thanks Jojo, just to confirm a bong is still carcinogenic right it's just a smoother hit? I wish Sativex was available more widely as it is in other countries, it is a product of a BRITISH firm yet british people have very very limitted access while abroad it has much greater avilability for those who need it.
I think on this issue we are very stuck in the mud and it's sad sick people are suffering for it.
Regarding the plant, the house I go past would have been shut down by now if it was cannabis, the Police around here are very intolerant of growers and have strangled supply, as a result it is nearly 4 times more expensive locally then 30 minutes away in london! Thankfully I never buy it myself.0 -
