I received a letter from AI Scheme referring to the Sentinel Protection.

I vaguely recognise the Sentinel name but I can't remember what card/bank account/product i had the protection on so am not sure what to expect with this.

The voting form i have to return says that i can put in a figure for what the value if my vote is otherwise they will calculate it for me.

I trust that this will be done fairly as i have no way of checking how much or for how long i actually paid for this!

Is there any way of finding out what i may have had this protection in conjunction with?

all this seems very vague. I had a letter, but no voting form, no request for a 'value'.
It was a diary of votes/events/dates, which WILL take place.
Some people seem to have claimed, some people seem to have voted

Just received the voting letter. I have had Sentinel for many years from the time I had a Barclaycard and it was my decision solely to make it easier to report lost cards. Now all my cards are with HSBC there is probably little benefit in it so will probably cancel at the next renewal.
I can see little point in voting as since I have had cover, voluntarily, since the 1980s I couldn't claim anyway. Voting just to get the required minimum so it passes seems pointless.
  • Hi There,

I received a letter on behalf of my father who is deceased. I rang AI and was told that i should return the voting form completed on his behalf with a copy of the will and death certificate. Any compensation would then be paid to his estate. Hope this helps :)

Many year ago I took out Sentinel card protection insurance via Barclaycard. I cancelled the Sentinel card in 2013. I have a letter confirming this. However, I do not have any of the original paperwork nor the statements showing the dates I started paying for cover. I do have the gold key tag that was issued with the early protection. Will I be able to claim for the pre 2005 payments without the documentary proof?

You can contact Sentinel on 0800 023 4318 and request a form but you'll need to be quick as it takes 7 - 10 days to get the vote form and it needs to be back by 23rd June.

I had not received my voting pack. Having just phoned them they assured me it had been sent but i haven't received it. They are sending me another one which will take 7 - 10 days! but i should still be able to return it by 23rd June.

I only knew about these dates due to MSE!:money:

I had sentinel automatically added when I had my Barclaycard in 1991-2007.

I've written to Barclaycard to claim the costs. Though I I'll get a reply saying dependant upon the voting?

Worth a try I thought. I'll see what Barclaycard reply is?

Been with Sentinel for many years and so will probably claim when the time comes, BUT that means the cover is cancelled automatically. Bit odd--why don't they want our continued business??
I like the idea of just one phone call to report losses so can anyone suggest an alternative provider
