    Hi
I received the letter about claiming A1/credit card sentinel back with the subsequent application form and would like to ask advise please...

For those that already applied, what did you write down as the reason you were applying?

    Thanks
  • It's been three weeks since I posted the form. Those who have received cheques, how long did it take from posting?

I wrote "The product provided cover for fraudulent use of my cards if they were lost or stolen, but this cover was not needed because my card issuer already provided such cover." You could use Martin's suggested words but I wanted to keep it simple and it worked.

Hi Thanks so much. Yes that is certainly true for me too! Thank you for taking time to reply, really appreciated!
I don't want anything complicated either.
Will try to find Martin's stuff out of interest.
Did you have to provide dates etc? I have no paperwork/records..:-/

Was wondering what other reasons people gave..

Has anyone had luck claiming for way back? Think mine was originally with Credit Card Sentinel back in early 90s before became Sentinel Gold then apparently A1.

If you already have the claim form to return they have all the information they need, you don't need to provide anything else.

This scheme is limited to products sold between 14 January 2005 and August 2013. It never did become AI, that is just the name of the parent company (Affinion International).

...mmm well that's strange as I really don't think I had the policy in 2005. Don't suppose you know why it only goes back that far?

Thanku again for replying and so quickly! :-) :-)

Having rummaged around in the loft I have managed to find the Sentinel Contract or 'promise',albeit within the Goldfish introductory booklet.
It states 'Worlwide Protection,24 hours a day,365 days a year'
Underneath this it is stated 'If your cards are lost or stolen Sentinel will [amongst other things] insure you against fraudulent use'.
'You'll find full details of your policy in the Summary of Cover' (April 02 edition)- which you do, and as we all now know we paid for cover we did not need.

Not really. There is information on the link I posted about claiming for pre-2005.

Ok thanks I'll try and trace that downref the older stuff. I will use your sentence for my answer on the form they sent if you don't mind me copying it. You're right, it's simple and clear and I doubt it needs anything else to be said. Thanks again .. And congrats on getting yours sorted. :-)
