Caf! manager takes £1 out of the till to buy a loaf of bread. They put receipt for £1 in the till. It all balances. Hardly rocket science.
I am sure when I used to go to my Morrisons one as it was open a little later they used to use own brand bread so less than £1, I also know when a friend worked at Asda the staff canteen was all out of date stuff that didnt sell though this is going back like 10 years so heatlh and safety was probably a little different then, he used to tell me how the bread was mouldy but sandwiches cost the same as if they bought them on the shop floor despite being out of date.0 -

No it only balances in Thumbremotes head, you cannot then bank a receipt saying it's worth £1. It's simple the till is now £1 down. Your talk of rocket science just goes to show how little you know. Even the manager will have to follow strict cash procedures, it's like that in every single retail/catering company I've known.
If I kept doing thing like this where I work I'd get sacked simple.0 -

If I kept doing thing like this where I work I'd get sacked simple. You haven't a clue what you're talking about and just make things up so they work fine but only in your little dream world which the real world bares no resemblance.
Unless you work in a supermarket cafe then your own work experiences are irrelevant.0 -

Or you could just do what I've done & read the thread.ScarletMarble wrote: »Tesco's cafes are run by an external company (Compass Group?) - hence why the staff couldn't grab a few loaves from the shop floor.

So that post tells you the till procedures of the compass group? You used your own personal work experience to backup your argument.
Unless you have experience of the compass group or have worked in a supermarket cafe then your experience is completely irrelevant.0 -

No, really, it isn't rocket science. It's a cafe. Don't know why you're getting into such a tizzy about how complex it is. Maybe it's that sort of 'can't do' thinking that causes them to run out of food in the first place.
I'll repeat my earlier point - it is entirely down to the stores own procedures that cafe staff aren't allowed to get items from the store. Nothing you have written above changes that.0 -
