    Hi all

Jessie's here – we had a lovely walk this morning (took an age, as she wanted to sniff everything,:D but that's fine); she's flaked out on her bed now.;) It makes such a difference having a canine guest here - makes me feel as if I'm at least of some use.:o

Interesting to note that many of the friends no longer with us that I remember with fondness are of the canine variety – my beloved Penny-Dog, of course; also Tina, Robbie, Sam, Benji, Taymore, Crackers (these were all family), and more recently Sidny, Cameron, Candy, Dylan, Meg, Sadie, Pip, Peggy-Sue and Mary.
 Still remembered and loved, every one of them

Rubies I hope your DS2 is ok; I find it appalling that 2 teachers failed to see something clearly wrong and take appropriate action:mad: – what about duty of care, or whatever it's called?:(

Minerva that's a lovely flat! Wouldn't suit me, with all those steps, but it looks really nice. :o

CY major amounts of posi-vibes for DD + her fiance; and a (((HUG))) for you.:o

Elastic I sympathise with snow + Mr E not being a good combination; I daren't use the buggy in the snow, lest it get into the motor and short it out; and one time Mr LW tried to help me dog-walk using the wheelchair, we got in difficulties, as we got stuck! Thankfully another dog-walker came along and helped free the wheelchair from the drift and added his strength to getting us back up to the close where we live! :A
The agreement I now have with the dog-sitting franchisee is that in the event of snow, exercise will happen in the garden, and Mr LW will do walkies later on if possible; although I can walk a little, it's excruciatingly painful with footwear on,:( and I can't risk a fall away from home, whereas if I fall in the garden I can at least scrabble back to the bungalow.;)

    Mumto5 I hope you're feeling a little better by now.:o

Ionafan I do hope your poor friend can get a place at a decent nursing home; this must be so distressing for her, and the stress won't be helping her at all.
Ah, I've just read a bit further on the Fred, and see you have a new place in mind – fingers crossed that it works out.:o

Mumof2 I sympathise on the lack of sleep; still trying to find a definitive answer to it myself.:o

Still no sign of my hearing aid coming back from repair – Mr LW tried to chase it up yesterday but got no reply;:( he'll try again today. It made for an interesting time at the CAMRA AGM last night.:D

One of the tasks I want to get done this weekend is evict the dust-bunnies from the PC processor unit; effectively, we have a 3-day weekend, as Mr LW has taken annual leave on Monday, for Imbolc.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I've tidied the kitchen but realised I have no chicken for later so we will have bacon instead. Trying to stick with healthy as I joined sl!mming world this week (so far so good).

I've also made my bed, with DDs help ;) and DS tidied his engines up this morning as they were everywhere.

The chillaxing continues this weekend with not a lot on. A kids party tomorrow tea time and a visit to the local fire station with Beavers on Sunday.

Still got laundry to tackle, the spare bed and a Lego arctic base camp to finish building ;) (I do love lego :))

    Yay great news CY.

    Chocolate cake baking
    WM loaded
    Washing up done
    Recycling emptied
    Bird feeder filled up
    Cake 2 in progress
    Toilets cleaned

No earth shattering but a start.

  • CY - that's great news, just shows what a bit of sheer determination can achieve :)

Iona - good news about the nursing home :)

Pigpen - your daughter looks lovely - you must be very proud :)

Lamewolf & Elastic & everyone else - thank you so much DS2 is fine and is actually out playing in the snow (this is normally unheard of) DS1 is out in neighbouring village and has phoned asking if they can have a sleepover - 7 of them!!! so phoned hubby to check, and yes they can!!! Can't quite decided if we are mad or soft or both, but none of his school friends live in our village, as we are very rural, so will be good to finally meet them, even if all at once haha.

So no flying in boys rooms or playroom to be done today, just be no point, and they are tidy-ish, will do tomorrow after wall climbing, which he says he's still going, told everyone they've got to be gone by 9 in morning, so his dedication has impressed me :)

So seemingly as though we are in for a noisy night, we've invited our own friends round too, love impromptu nights like this, have fun everyone :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

cy Congratulations to DD's fianc!, so happy to read that. Can they find out what the problem is with that lease? The first flat I ever made an offer on, a problem cropped up in the survey, and I was very grateful that the solicitor advised backing out - the second flat I found was so much better!

Rubiesr4eva Not happy to hear about DS's problem at school. I'm so twitchy about it, I'd rather send them to the medical room to be checked even if I think it's probably nothing.

I am now tucked up on sofa again; drove in to school in fairly thick snow for about half journey. Happily, it has all disappeared. I think all the books are up to date, all the data entered correctly, and now I can concentrate on planning the lessons and resourcing. That's the weekend booked then.

House looks moderately okay, although I may push the vacuum round if I can find a minute.

    Evening all,

no flying for me today as I had my Grandson and am still not up to speed after having my dental surgery.

Managed to vacuum parts of the house as well as steam clean the hard floors downstairs but that's as far as ive got.

    Your Daughter is beautiful Pigpen.
Have read the thread on KonMarie, but like a few others decided its not for me, so just neat drawers but no rolling!
No its not for me either. All that faffing and rolling. I don't have a problem with organisation anyway (just don't have a lot to organize).:o

    CY that's fabulous news! Hooray!

Lego thing all built now - phew. It is rather fab. Seems to have captured their imaginations. There's a husky sled, a polar bear, a helicopter, truck, crystals stuck in ice and a big laboratory - neat!
The polar bear has even got some fish to eat :T

I've cleaned kitchen after dinner but that's all. I have a solitary beer (low alcohol lol) in the fridge with my name on it once the littlies are in bed.
