I HAVE A FRIEND.... see, told you there was not a piglet!

Sometimes I am very pleased we have a 'no holes barred' family.

Happy for you on the piglet front as you sound as if you have plenty to cope with.

Great that you can talk to your family so well; in my teaching career I have seen many sad teenagers who can't talk to their parents and get into all sorts of difficulties. Your children have a good strong base with you and each other, which will help them overcome many things.

    livingroom, hall and cloakroom Done!
Surprising how much housework I can do when avoiding starting work...;):D

This mornng I filled car with petrol, did a quick bread and bits shop, then walked around town, combining my half hour exercise with a little retail therapy. I also treated myself to coffee and pain au raisin in my favourite cafė. :D Most enjoyable.

My co teacher has just emailed to let me know she's back from France (sadly, she lost her father ten days ago) and will be in school from Monday. So this week should be easier than I thought, except for the stress of the inspectors on Wednesday.

Very grey and cold here, not tempted to go out again.

    Hope everyone is well.

It must be a day for good news. My DD1 passed her driving test today! :j:D It was her 4th attempt but she's done it now :D
I now need to find out about getting my old car back on the road for her  We'll have a chat with the garage on Monday when my car goes to have it's m.o.t.
I have been flying, just not really off the lists :o I spent yesterday afternoon sorting things in my room and going through my bookcase (and the 3 boxes of books :o ) got rid of some _pale_ I have also written a list of the books I have (sad I know :o ) so I don't double up when I shopping.
:T:T:T Well done, that young Witch. Brilliant news!

I too, have a book list; it's in electronic form on my PDA.:D

Narc0 glad the horse will be going where he'll be loved and looked after. Could Mr N possibly negotiate "visiting rights" occasionally?

Piggers posi-vibes for DS3; I do hope he can get to a point of being at peace with himself. My parents were the last people on the planet I'd have ever gone to with a problem - you really do have my admiration for being a terrific Mum.

I've decided the Dys0n Tango can be put on hold til Monday, when Jessie goes home. It's only dog hair, after all!:D

We've done the F&V run, picked up a veritable pharmacy's worth of meds (5 for me, 3 for Mr LW) and read B00ts the riot act as there's still no sign of my missing hearing aid. Actually, all I did was put my point politely but firmly, assuring the assistant that whilst I wasn't getting mad at her, I'm miffed at the lack of service generally (Mr LW tried Thursday and Friday to ring to chase it and both days the phone went unanswered) and want it sorted asap.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

That shouldn't be a problem at all. The ex owner used to visit him regularly after Mr N bought him; we were perfectly happy about this - she used to bring him treats on his birthday (the horse not Mr.N!) and she is my friend on FB. I'm sure she will completely understand if we want to visit him, and it is only about 10 miles away.

Been to visit Mum whilst DS3 was at a climbing party.
Finished using the sewing machine and iron board and put those away.

Going to empty DW and reload and head up to bed to read as I'm tired now.

2 weeks to half term.. :)

OH had a difficult conversation with his mum.. he seems to be getting the blame for us not being able to go visit because he is refusing to allow his sister around the girls given her cocaine and alcohol habits. His mother doesn't seem to understand that having a drunken drug addict around our girls is not acceptable in any, shape or form. We are struggling now to think of how she can make amends and regain his trust but how many last chances do you give someone? She nearly dropped Dot as a tiny newborn, she DID drop Squeak off a swing backwards when she was a little over a year old, has had them messing on the stairs, got so drunk she slept on top of them under her duvet.. she could have suffocated them!! And her overall behaviour is not acceptable. But obviously his mum thinks this is an ok way to behave because she doesn't seem to think it is a problem.. makes you wonder if it would be a problem if she had suffocated them or hurt them. She even used the excuse of 'she just split up with her husband' .. erm yeah.. and? I did that 6 years ago and you didn't see me behaving like that! She isn't the only one!.. but we have a duty to protect the girls and it looks as though their granny has decided her adult daughter who has chosen to make a disgrace of herself take priority over her granddaughters.. that is certainly how it feels to OH who is very upset.

It is a bit sad really.. he loves his sister very much and he cannot change the path she has chosen to walk. I wish these people could actually step outside of themselves and see the effect of their actions on the people they care about and who care about them. :(

DS3 seems happier just for getting a bit off his chest last night :) He is a lovely caring sensitive young man 99% of the time.. the other 1% he is a demon.

Anyway, as my head feels better I'm going to watch star trek and knit! I've not done any for about a week.

it is, as you say Piggers, so sad. I would go down the line of reiterating (ad nauseam if necessary) that, while OH loves his sister he neither loves nor condones her behaviour. While the adults around her can choose to accept it because they can understand and cope with it, though, your girlies cannot. And, this being the case, contact with her must be minimal for the sake of the girlies.

Have made orange jelly (ie shredless) marmalde for the parents as my mum prefers shredless. And I am, I must say, quite superb at making jams and jellies.

Oh and Piggers, kudos re the support for your DS

been to the pictures to see kingsmen (with DD) and been shopping. used 2 £5 off no 7 vouchers on birthday pressie for sis

And kudos too to the jewellers from whom sis bought my birthday present - the blue john pendant crumbled (to my horror) and I complained and they have replaced and repaired for free. Gift bought 4 years ago...
(having said that I do think it was probably flawed.)

Valli I will only ever eat shredless marmalade.Yours sounds yummy!

Apparently when I was little I refused to eat normal marmalade as I was convinced the shreddy bits were bits of goldfish.

Still can't bear the stuff with bits in to this day. :rotfl:

I thought it was skin from the orange cats it was made from.. marmalade -> marmaduke -> cat
