    Bathroom Done!

Rest of day - cooking Sunday lunch, and planning for this week. One lesson already half done and resourced. I was lying awake in bed this morning for at least an hour planning in my mind, so I'm clear on what I want to do, just need to get it all on computer and resources ready for photocopying etc tomorrow.

It looks very grey and chilly out. Brrrr. I may force myself out for a walk later.

    Enjoy Sunday everyone!

We've been to the fire station :T was really interesting. DS is now wearing his fireman dress up and rescuing me from the burning building (I'm trying to cook dinner ;))

I've vacced the LR rug today and that's it so far, but I'm sorting my ironing pile for later while doing dinner.

I'm not sure where I'm at today...

Birds and cat fed and cat stuff washed.

Each rooms had a S&S and have hoovered the living room.

Freezing out there when I nipped to the bank. At least we don't have any snow here. Checked gas and I've used £19.00 last week.

Just back from cricket so a cuppa is in order and then i'll bung the lamb in and finish cleaning the bathroom which really is being done in 10 minute chunks today.

I think I may, at long last, have found a way to keep myself from going mad on the household management front. I feel guilty if I'm not actually sorting things out, cleaning things, decluttering, the laundry shuffle, etc etc etc because there is are two generations of junk here. I am sick of it.

Last year I ate the real frog that had been really upsetting me for years and since then I haven't felt the same compulsion to do housework. It was probably an avoidance technique then, but I still feel overwhelmed by the house sometimes, despite the fact that under the wonderful Flyladies gentle guidance it isn't a complete minging heap any more.

I'm not sure which wise person it was who said if you do the three things you don't want to do first, the rest of the day will into place - a bit like snacking on frogspawn, probably. Anyway, I have a list as long as all the paper in the world of things I could do, should do, would do if I had the motivation and that list never, ever shrinks. It's that list that drives me mad.

So I've combined ideas. I have a scruffy little book and each day I have listed three things that have to be done that day. Each task from the whole list is going to be allocated over the next year, or junked once and for all. I'll never be on top of it, but after the three things are done each day I can stop feeling as though 'I should be doing ....' something.

I'm not sure if the achievements this week would have happened if it weren't for this idea but a whole load of niggly things are done. And I don't feel guilty about sitting here now doing what I want to do. I think that's a first.
    Better is good enough.

All weekend tasks done, apart from the Dys0n Tango, deferred til Jessie goes home, tomorrow (otherwise I'll be doing the same task twice).

2 x Walkies done ("Walkies" actually = "pootle along at a snail's pace sniffing virtually every leaf and blade of grass"):D

Cheese tomato onion + Qu0rn quiche and blackberry'n'apple crumble made. That's the last of the blackberries used out of the freezer.

Mr LW has just put a cup of tea in front of me, so going to log off now and have that.;)

May not be around tomorrow, as Mr LW has the day off on annual leave for Imbolc.;)

Not on the same scale but DS2 has found a computer chair online that looks much more comfy than the (fairly new) one he has got already - and guess what its only £70!!! Oh yeah I just happen to have a spare £70 in my purse somewhere. Sigh.

Had an absolutely brilliant day out at the seaside, even though it was unbelievably cold. I have a great family and much to be thankful for. Just remind me of that when they are getting on my nerves.

I am going to do very little for the rest of the day, other than trying to make my budget add up for February!

    Hi All

Just read everyones posts and caught up.

Honeybear, I am so with you. I married and DH family who have lived here for 2 generations were all hoarders. Finally last september I decided enough was enough. Started with 15 things in a bag into rubbish a week. It was very easy to start with. Initially I did not feel I was making progress. After a crazy
Jan decluttering I feel like I am now feeling the benefit. Which is a relief as in next year we are meant to move to another house. The idea of moving all that unwanted junk! DH is NOT with me on this and believes the 15 year old farmers weekly I lobbed was treasure. A nightmare. The 10 broken clocks we still have as they mean so much to him. Small steps!!

Today I did the autumn raspberries, cutting them back, only managed to do half so far, but loved the fresh air. Also had a go at making a ragged quilt whilst watching the aus open, so exciting, and so disappointed for Andy. Maybe next time.

House work all done, ish, except for the sorting of baby clothes! lol, yes I managed to procrastinate sufficiently to avoid this task. Maybe this will be the week????

Have fun flyers, what a shame it is monday tomorrow, I was getting into this being at home lark.

Good luck with your teenagers, tricky times.

    Maria
