    Hi ploppy,

I think most of us ladies on here.. and brogden of course pretty much run the finances in our homes.. My debts are all mine..well at least something is.. :rotfl: Luckily OH is rather generous with his cash when he wants to be.. he's never bought me cakes mind...!! So maybe your OH isn't too bad really..

I can empathise today with you feeling poorly, my OH also shared his man flu/cold with me so I'm now feeling awful... Try and get some rest over the weekend. I'm just planning on pottering around, in fact I may just have an afternoon nap today instead of doing the hoovering...

I was going to bring you an easter gift but have chosen this HS2046520bongf60r7k.gif as you said you would quite like some..

Thanks Puzz:) that made me smile. I am also pottering today...still in PJ's to be honest. Been playing games on FB and listing some stuff on FleaBay. Will summon the energy to get some tea later.

With regard to the debts/finances. I have always sorted the finances/mortgages/insurance etc and OH had mainly just signed what he needed to. But with the actual debts, as the majority of them were in his name...I just expected a bit more co-operation that is all. But have now resigned myself to the fact that is not going to happen. He went off to buy some veg today, after work...with money I had given him and a list of what we needed....and again he came back with biscuits and chocolate!! I know its only £1 but we didn't need them, we have enough biscuits to last about 3 weeks already! All these £1's could be going towards other things that he keeps telling me he needs money for. It is just the one thing that I can't get him to understand and I know I shouldn't get annoyed about it, but all these little things add up. I promise, no more moaning....LOL

Hope you feel better soon as well.

    Hi Ploppy

Like Puzz says - hope all is okay with you. I am missing my 'virtual' DMP twin.

Hi ladies, thanks for the concern. Its nice to know I am among friends.:) I have been reading posts, but not posting much myself lately, decided I needed a break to try and get back on top form, mentally and physically. I was finding that the whole DMP, checking accounts, reading posts, checking how much money I had etc, was starting to take over my life.
I have been unwell....again...!! This is the 3rd time this year, and I have now been off work since Easter,:( luckily I get sick pay. Dr says I should stay off another week, so I am not arguing as I think I was so low, that was what has triggered illness! Dr sent me for a chest Xray, which has apparently shown up some scarring on my lungs and I need to be referred to the chest clinic, but that won't be until July!! (The NHS are wonderful....LOL). I was just so tired and worn out all the time, think everything just got on top of me. I am feeling quite a bit better, however I can't shift this cough and snuffly nose and think that a lot of it is allergy related and not just to do with my lungs. I am trying all sorts of alternative remedies and trying to find out what is causing it etc. I am not a fan of Dr's and think they overlook things and only ever look at one symptom at a time, which is what has happened here. But the main thing is that I am starting to feel a bit better and have my mind in a much better place, which is important. I am a good 99% better than I was at Easter
On the DMP front, not much happening except that L****s have defaulted the loan, so I am now going to write to them and see if they will default the CC's and OD's as well, as they are obviously not treating all accounts the same at the moment:mad:, but I just haven't got round to writing the letter yet, despite having thought about it ages ago. I did say to OH that we should do it, and he just agreed, but made no attempt to actually do anything about it....so no change there then!
We still haven't managed to get a big emergency fund, as always seem to have other things that we need to spend the money on each month. But on the other side of the coin, we do always have some money left over each month when pay day comes around.

So I will be around more again now, I promise. I have learnt now, that I don't have to keep checking accounts and I know that I have money, so don't need to keep check on it so much. I am also giving myself more time and putting myself first, which I know I hadn't been doing for a long time.

Hope you are all doing ok. :)

    Hi Ploppy

So pleased you are back. Sorry to hear you have been unwell, I won't say 'again' because I think you have had a low lying bug for months that's just really pulled you down.

Great news about the Ll*yds default - may the rest swiftly follow :)

Take care and look after yourself -x-

Well finally plucked up the courage and energy to go through all our accounts and check everything is going ok. All appears to be well, except that they added £155 interest to the L****s loan, :mad:even though they had told us it was all stopped and we were being defaulted. I rang and spoke to a lovely lady, who admitted it was their error and the amount will be refunded in 3 working days.
I will probably write to L****s over the weekend and request that they default all our accounts as they should be treating all accounts the same. I just need to psych myself up to do this, as it stresses me out....LOL

So the weekend is coming up and I will be grocery shopping and doing very little else. May take the grandchildren out for a bit maybe. Was hoping to do a car boot, but rain is forecast, so think we will leave it a few weeks.
On a brighter note...I have £70 tax rebate on its way to me...:T

Hope everybody is ok and all is going well.

Well tax rebate will be swallowed up by OH.....his motorbike failed its MOT and he needs a new rear tyre and exhaust! :(
We had planned to have a week off work on 18th and were going to in-laws caravan, only now they say they are using it that week so we can't go! :( We were going to have a few days away as we hadn't been anywhere since OH was in hospital last year and I really need a break after all my illness this year!

So all in all, I am feeling pretty fed up right now! Sorry, just wanting to vent my feelings.

It's your thread, you're allowed to vent! Can you rearrange your leave so that you can go to the caravan another time? Think you could do with a little break x
