    Hi Ploppy

We started with a similar amount of debt as you. I think it will take us longer than you have stated to clear yours but we will get there in the end. SC have been so helpful. We are with NW and have had no problems but if they have changed their sort codes does this mean we are going to have to change all our DD's? I hope not.

I too want to know what the Konmarie thread is - sounds like I need it.

    SM

No I don't think you would have to change your DD's. From what I can gather, they have started to issue new accounts with a new sort code and it is this sort code that is causing the problem as some companies systems don't recognise it or something. Severn Trent water have now emailed me and said there had been an error on their part when they tried to set up the DD and they would get it set up in the next 5 days. So hoping it works this time. House ins said they would try again and car ins ended up taking the payment as a debit card transaction as they said it wouldn't work, so hoping they get it sorted before next month. So far none of the others have contacted us, so fingers crossed they are all ok.

Well had to give in to this horrible virus today and stayed off work, hardly slept last night and felt awful today, so been burning oils all day and steaming and am sure I will be over it soon. Trying to stop it going on my chest as I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and don't want that again. I truely believe that stress will manifest itself in a physical way and I think this is why I have gone down with this, the amount of stress we have been through lately. Even though hubby is 100% into the DMP and everything, it is me that is doing everything and sorting everything out and all he has done is sign a few forms and moan about how much money he will (or won't have) every week. He can't get to grips with the idea of savings pots for different things and says he likes to always have a spare £10 in his pocket....just in case! I told him in that case it would have to come out of one of the other "pots" and then there would be less in those. I am sure it will all sort itself out though, once we get going.

I just feel whacked now and in need of a good holiday. LOL

Had a letter from the mortgage company today, they had also had a problem setting up the DD. I rang and explained what N/Wide had told me and she tried again, updated the system and says it is ok this time. Still can't see any of our DD's listed on the online banking, but maybe they only show up after the first lot of money has been taken.

Got a few bits advertised on FleaBay at the moment and need to get a few more bits listed when I have the energy, it is so time consuming.

I have just read what I have written today, I really seem to have slipped into negativity, which is not like me as I am normally a very positive person. Think I need to get over this silly virus and get back to normal and start planning our future.

Well still off work today, but think I am starting to feel a bit better, so hopefully back on Monday. Sat in my PJ's sorting out some paperwork today and shredded loads of old stuff. Sorting and decluttering is certainly helping me to feel better about everything.

Not much else going on today, apart from the washing machine being very near the end of its life. So need to work out how much more we will need to put to the "pot" to get a new one. Just hoping it lasts another couple of months or so. Fingers crossed for the stuff I am selling to add some more to the funds.

Just going to snuggle and watch Musketeers tonight and have a relaxing weekend.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

  • How are you feeling today? Today has been a bit of a pj day here too. DH has ironed everyone's clothes for tomorrow and is now making tea. I have trimmed the youngest's fringe and watched a couple of programmes on catch-up. Now catching up on some diaries.

Feeling quite a bit better today, thanks. Still not 100% but as long as I don't exert myself too much I am fine as I get a bit breathless and cough a lot if do too much. Need to steam and clear this catarrh that it has left me with and stop the cough going on my chest. Hopefully back to work tomorrow. I love Sundays doing nothing.

Well another day of coming home to a load of letters that require dealing with....:eek:House Ins still say they can't get DD set up, despite what Nationwide have told me about them having to update their systems, so we have had to pay by debit card for this month and they will try again. SC also had problem with the DD but tell me they are unable to update their system so we have had to set up a SO instead of a DD.
Lloyds have written to us saying they have added charges to our 2 OD's :mad:and no mention of the DMP in the letter, so I rang them and apparently they think we have already broken the terms of the plan as they thought we should have paid this month and DMP doesn't start until March! So SC have to re send the details and hopefully all will be well.

I also rang our works payroll department to check they have my new bank details as I don't trust the computer...they say yes they do, so all will be well at end of the month when I get paid. :D
So all that, after a day at work which was surprisingly busy and stressful....not normally like that in my job and I still don't feel 100%. To be honest I feel shattered tonight. Hubby had been sleeping in spare room last week while I was full of flu and last night he came back in our room and I didn't sleep as well as I had been last week:mad: I told him if he wakes me up a lot again tonight he is back in spare room...he was not impressed!

On a brighter side, we decided last night that maybe we could afford a cheap break later in the year, so booked some time off work and hoping to book something later. Seen a nice place near Whitby that only requires £25 deposit and if we go at end of September it is a good price.

Glad you managed to get back to work. I am so glad we set up all our DDs on the Nationwide bank account with sort code you didn't get - that must be so frustrating and creating such a lot of unnecessary work for you to sort out.

Great news on the holiday bargain - it's nice to be able to look forward to things like that without feeling of guilt about putting costs on credit cards.
