SC have emailed to say DMP is all set up and have sent us the list of payments and what goes where.
Ploppy you are now officially ahead of me in our SC race to the start line (finish line too far off to even think about yet:rotfl:)
I haven't anything from SC since the first query over whether an energy supplier listed was our current supplier - which they're not....will give them a call:DDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

We are not having our first payment taken until 10th March, so you still might beat us yet...LOLThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well today we had 2 letters, 1 from car ins company and 1 from house ins both saying that they had tried to take DD's (from the new account we set up with Nationwide) and that the account doesn't exist! So I was straight on the phone to NationWide who tell me that our account is fine but there have been a lot of problems with people saying the same thing, and it has to do with the new sort codes they are using and that certain companies find that their systems need updating before they can set up the DD's! Well that is not a lot of good is it? I have relayed this info to the companies concerned and they apparently have to try again and if it still doesn't work then they will have to set up a recurring payment from the debit card! So hoping we don't have the same problem with any other companies.
I also started with a sore throat last night and am full of cold today,:( so was glad to get home from work today, now just sat in pj's and had some nice home made soup for tea. Hubby is on a late shift today so won't be home till about 8.30pm.
On a brighter note, we did manage to sell a desk we no longer had use for at the weekend and I also found a £10 note in a pocket while tidying my wardrobe out, so quite a good weekend on the financial front!
Hope everybody else is okThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi ploppy,
Sorry to hear you are full of cold and had bank troubles. I bank with them and love the online banking. I have loads of e saving accounts attached to my current account for all my different budget pots.
I am also a big fan of car boots, hate the early starts but love the money for my old tat!

Hi Puzzcat...thanks, I am sure cold will go soon. I am burning T-Tree & Euculyptus oils and drinking honey & lemon. Just seem to have constant running nose which doesn't help:D
Wasn't so much the bank, they were actually really helpful. It is the companies not having the correct systems to be able to set up the DD....does seem a bit mad though, for the bank to use new sort codes that aren't compatible. Just hope they sort it now and we don't find any more writing to us.
Yes, we love doing car boots. We have collected loads of stuff to sell this year. Only thing I don't like is when people try and haggle with you, even though you have only priced something at 50p to start with....LOLThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes its wierd...I was fine all day yesterday and sat down in evening and realised my throat was sore and by the time we went to bed my nose was running like mad....very odd how quickly it came on.

Went to work today and to be honest, much as I love my job, I was glad I only work 4 hours a day most of the time as I felt pretty c**p by the end of the shift. My cold has got worse and throat feels awful. I bought some more tissues with nice balsm, as the cheap ones were making me look like Rudolph:rotfl:. I have already got through half the box, my nose just won't stop and my eyes are streaming.:( So just waiting for hubby to get home from work in about 20 mins and then I might just go to bed.
Had another letter about DD's today. It appears that Severn Trent Water are also unable to set up our DD, due to the sort code that Nationwide have issued us with. I have replied and told them what NW have told me and hopefully they will try again and all will be well. Have been onto the NW online banking but can't see anywhere on there where it gives you the option to view your DD's that are set up. But I did open a savings account....but it only has £1 in it at the moment. I am going to use it for a holiday fund and then open a few more for other separate savings. The money for all the things allowed by SC will stay in our other accounts, hubby is having the car spares etc money and I will save the stuff for dentist, optician, clothes etc. It is nice to actually have some to save.
I have subscribed to the Konmarie thread as I am trying to sort the house from top to bottom as part of our new start. I have read the book and it is very good and I have started on the decluttering, but don't have any energy to to any today, so just want to feel better now. I am a great believer in stress manifesting itself in physical ways and think that is why I have gone down with this dreaded cold as I don't often get colds but have certainly been stressed lately. Hopefully now that is all over and all will be well in the future.

Hi Ploppy
To view set up DDs in Nationwide online banking...- log in
- click on Move Money and Management Payments Tab
- From drop down selection choose Manage Payees
Hope you feel better soon - my cold is just irritating me, but I can deal with it.
PS: What, and where, is the Konmarie thread ? Do I need to read it lolDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Hi Ploppy
We started with a similar amount of debt as you. I think it will take us longer than you have stated to clear yours but we will get there in the end. SC have been so helpful. We are with NW and have had no problems but if they have changed their sort codes does this mean we are going to have to change all our DD's? I hope not.
I too want to know what the Konmarie thread is - sounds like I need it.
