Glad you managed to get back to work. I am so glad we set up all our DDs on the Nationwide bank account with sort code you didn't get - that must be so frustrating and creating such a lot of unnecessary work for you to sort out.
Great news on the holiday bargain - it's nice to be able to look forward to things like that without feeling of guilt about putting costs on credit cards.
Yeah, the September break is booked. Going for 4 nights on the 29th September ( our anniversary is 27th and we always like to have time off work around then). Just been looking at Google maps and seeing where it is and all around Whitby. Looks a great place and always wanted to go there. Might win the lottery before then and get a weekend away as well....can live in hope. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I think today was a good day on the DMP front....had a letter from Tesco CC, saying they are issuing us with a Default notice and no further interest will be charged.
They are sending it to the Recoveries dept and it will stay on our file for 6 years etc etc! We are also being issued a Termination notice, but not sure what that is.
So I think all that is good but it does seem strange to be pleased about being issued a default notice!:rotfl: Just wish the others would follow suit and then we will be guaranteed no more interest.
Apart from that, all is continuing quietly today, which is good as I am feeling very tired and looking forward to the weekend....and it is only Tuesday...LOL
Hope everyone else is ok.:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well the Default notice arrived today from Tesco, saying if we don't pay £67 within 28 days they may pass it to a DCA! I think that is the general idea isn't it....LOL They have already said interest is stopped, so hoping that won't change if it gets passed over.
Lloyds wrote regarding our 2 OD's and said they were still adding charges etc, so I rang them as I had only spoken to someone 2 days ago and she said letters should not have been sent and they had details of DMP on the computer and all charges/interest were stopped for 6 months and then they will review!
Our house ins company have written to say our DD has been cancelled....again.... as still that stupid problem with Nationwide sort code! I have already rung them once to explain what NW said and they assured me it was sorted, but obviously not! Will have to ring them tomorrow as they were closed by the time I got round to them!
Had a good but busy day at work and now watching Bake Off! Could really do with a weekend away....:( but think I may have to put up with a bit of decluttering the house this weekend and
wait a while for a weekend break.....will try a quick line on the Irish Lottery...LOL
We have been advertising some stuff on G**tree and had some interest in a printer, chap emailed at 11am this morning asking if he could come and pick it up at 2....obviously we were both at work and by the time we read message he had got one somewhere else!!:( So onward and upward with the selling as I am sure that everybody's junk is someone else's treasure and I am sure we can make some money from it. Also looking forward to car boot season starting! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Wow Ploppy you seem to go great guns with progress on the DMP. I am not jealous, I am not jealous, I am not jealous (if I repeat it enough I may begin to believe it
)
Seriously, well done on the progress, I aim to be not too far behind you very soon.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Well BC rang to speak to Hubby, just before I went to work this morning, but he had already left so I asked if I could take a message and they were quite happy to speak to me.....whatever happened to data protection?...LOL Anyway, I explained all the about the DMP and the fact that we have already agreed a payment plan etc and she said all was fine....then 10 mins ago I have just had another call from them...I tried to explain again and the fact that I had already spoken to someone this morning and she said there was no record of it and she couldn't speak to me anyway! I said that we wanted all communication in writing only and she said that wasn't how they operated and they would continue to ring to speak to OH! She said if he wanted to ring them and give permission to speak to me then that would be fine, ( but getting him to actually ring will be easier said than done) but they still say they have no record of the DMP! Well I am not surprised as I was told that BC were the worst.....we have written at least 3 times with the DMP but quite clearly no body communicates with each other in their company! Why is it so difficult to put some notes on a computer and for someone else to be able to read it:question:
Feel shattered again tonight and starting to feel like I've had enough of it all now, especially this with BC.....they are probably the one we owe the most to and if they do not play ball and stop the interest then we will be paying for ever!!! Funny thing is we both have debts with them but we are only getting phone calls for OH's 2 cards and letters saying he owes money. I have had a letter about mine to say they have temporarily stopped charges while it gets sorted....hopefully that will continue. Might contact SC actually and ask them to make contact again re Hubby's accounts as it does seem odd that they can have details on mine but not on his.
Need to go and get something to eat, but can't be bothered....:( Hubby is on late shift so won't be home until about 8.30 and I really need to eat, although I did manage to get a dinner at work today so not that hungry. Think I will get off the laptop now and then have an early night with a crossword and a good book later. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Not done a post for a couple of days, so thought it was time for an update. Finally got to speak to BC re OH's CC's, after they accepted his permission to speak to me.....was a trial though as call centre is not in England and we seemed to have to repeat ourselves several times! Anyway, they have set interest at 3% for 12 months and will then review it.
Had another letter re DD's...this time it is TV licencing that say they are unable to set it up with our N/Wide account. :mad:I explained what NW had told me but they say they are unable to do that and they can't accept a SO or direct payment unless we pay a whole year in one go! So I have had to make a direct payment once a month from our N/Wide account into my Natwest account and then do DD from that! I didn't want to use that for DD's as we need them from a joint account in case anything ever happens to one of us.....just the way we have always had it! Just getting a bit fed up with N/Wide now as they keep saying it is not their fault and yet all the companies we are trying to set up DD's with say it IS the banks fault. Might actually write a letter to NW as don't seem to get anywhere with the call centre. How can a particular sort code make a difference to whether you can or cannot set up a DD?!:mad:
Feel a bit like my old problem of IBS is starting up again,:(, it is very stress related so trying to sort it by the relaxation techniques I have used before and the correct diet....think I may have overdone it a bit on comfort food lately! Just wish we could afford a night away one weekend soon for a chill out. Once the good weather starts we should be ok as OH's parents have a caravan they open up every spring and we could go there for a couple of nights :T:)if we can afford the fuel..think it will be about £30-40.....sounds like an emergency to me if it keeps us sane ans well!

Well had a busy weekend, clearing out and tidying etc. Back to work today and had a couple of hours overtime and now feel shattered!:( Since I had the flu the other week, I just don't seem to be able to get back to normal, tired and lethargic most of the time and just feeling bloated and breathless a lot of the time. I do have a slight heart problem and am wondering if it is connected to that, I just hate going to the Dr, always feel like a fraud unless I am seriously ill and think I am wasting their time. Maybe I just need a break..that would be good, it does seem a long time till September when we go to Whitby. Not had a break for ages and after OH being ill last summer, we promised ourselves one and then just couldn't afford it. Anyway, I am sure I will feel better soon.....positive thinking!:D
On a positive note, I have a result from Lloyds loan.....they have agreed to stop the interest as long as I am happy to let them send the account to the Recoveries dept!As our credit rating is already stuffed, I don't think it can get any worse by them sending it to Recoveries and it means they stop the interest and have already said they are happy to accept the DMP ...so onwards and upwards!
Also sold a couple of things on Fleabay in the last couple of days, only a few ££ but every little helps:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well all is pretty quiet on the DMP front, first payment to SC due on 10th! Only thing we have had today is letters from ll**ds as they think we have broken terms of the agreement already as they were expecting payment last month from Sc apparently. I gave them a ring and she has updated the accounts with the first payment date...except for OH's CC which she can't update without permission from him to say I can do it!!!...I do hate red tape and Data protection sometimes!
Still having trouble with some of our DD's from the new N/Wide acc. A couple of them seem to be working ok, but Virgin Media & car ins should have come out at beginning of month, and so far they still not managed to get them....N/Wide still say its there fault and they are saying it is the banks fault! Why is nothing ever simple?
On a personal note, I am full of cold again and feeling rubbish, this is the 2nd cold in 4 weeks. I knew I never felt right after the last one and when it turned to flu, been feeling tired for the last 4 weeks and trying to get over it and now feel even worse. Take Vitamin C and multivitamin, but think that maybe I am lacking something ...probably a good holiday...:rotfl: Looking forward to the nice weather and some sunshine.
Planning on a quiet weekend, although I do have a lot of cleaning I should be catching up on, but it might have to wait till next week when I am feeling better. Was also planning on a complete clear out of kitchen cupboards...as per the KonMarie thread:), but not sure I have the energy this week, will see how I feel tomorrow
Hope everybody else is ok and all is going well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well I am feeling far too yuk to do the cleaning, so having a "do nothing" day. Still full of cold and feeling achy...:(....I will feel better tomorrow! I think I have just got run down with all the worry over recent months and then starting the DMP and having to do it all myself...:(. Told OH last night that he needed to ring Ll**ds, but it went in one ear and out the other! Said he was too tired to do it yesterday and so far today he hasn't bothered either....I am starting to feel like we should have had separate DMP's and he would have had to sort his own stuff out then. He doesn't even know the details of the new joint bank account and hasn't a clue how to access it and that is driving me mad as well as we are still trying to sort out all these stupid DD's that N/Wide are still messing up, so that is all down to me as well:mad: I just feel like I can't be bothered with any of it now.
I know I am just feeling sorry for myself due to feeling illbut just feel like I need a rant!! Wouldn't it be nice if OH thought about arranging a nice night away to cheer me up......not a hope in hell of that happening! Only way we ever go anywhere is if I sort it out.
I must stop waffling and do something constructive....like having a shower....that might make me feel a bit better.. LOL On a positive note, we have money in the bank....real money, not OD and I know there is light at the end of the tunnell. Just need to put a rocket behind OH and I am sure things will seem better once I feel betterThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. You are doing great things :j Don't worry if DH isn't with you, they go into their man-caves don't they?
. Don't let his attitude take away your achievements - facing up to the situation you're in, making the DMP arrangements, sorting the new a/c - these are all really positive steps and you ARE going to be debt free!! He'll catch up eventually.
Hope you feel better very soon xxLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
