Hi everybody....and especially January.....Sorry I haven't been around much. Still trying to find another job before we all get finished at end of September and then had letters from Lloyds asking for another I&E review to be done (6 months) and had lots of unexpected expenses, so all in all not been feeling the best.
Anyway, have done our review and also heard form MBNA that they are defaulting us on all 3 accounts, so that is good.
On the job front, Had 1 interview so far that didn't work out, but then got approached today for a position as a sales negotiator/administrator in an estate agent. I hadn't even applied for it but had applied for a lettings administrator role which was no longer available and they thought I might be better at the sales. I always said I would never go back into sales, after years of being in travel and I had migrated to the care industry but I no longer want the shifts that go with it, so am actually quite excited by the prospect of this interview....so fingers crossed. I will keep you all up to date.
SO DMP going well, apart from the fact we have no savings fund and have a list of things we need to buy.....I need an interview outfit to start with...LOL
Hope everyone else is okThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Ploppy
So pleased you are okay and back posting on your diary
We also have no emergency fund left (well, that's a fib, we do have £20 in the savings account). Car MOT, service, new brakes/discs and other bits on the car have eaten into our emergency fund - but at least we had it.
Good luck with the interview - great you are sounding so positive. I couldn't sell anything to save my life. You've either got it or you haven't and when it comes to sales I really never had it :rotfl:
Keep us posted with how you get on:beer:DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Well, realised it was a long time since I posted on my diary, so just thought I would do a quick up date....if anybody is still actually interested...LOL
DMP was going along ok until I got made redundant in September and then got another job that was so bad it made me ill and off work for ages and ended up having to give it up. Have managed to secure a few hours a week in a local gift shop ( which I love), but it is not really enough hours. I have also managed to get some casual work elsewhere ( with the council), but as yet I am still waiting to actually be offered any work. Working for a council takes forever to get sorted, even though it is the same council I was made redundant from last year. They need 2 references even for casual work and then the DBS took ages to sort and now they have to sort out my work wear before I am allowed to start. Then when I do start I have to work a month in hand, so even if I start this month, I won't get any money from them until end of May!!!
So I have had to contact SC and lower our DMP payments from £670 a month to £255 a month, with the understanding that when I get any extra casual money, we can pay extra when we can. Based on £255 a month, this now gives us a DFD of 2031 instead of 2022! Which is very depressing but I know it will be sooner as we will have extra money to pay some months, although I want to get an emergency fund sorted first as the last lot we had, got used up. Also I have a lot of dental work to go through in the next few months and both OH and me are in urgent need of going to optician for new specs as both suffering at the moment and know we need new prescriptions.
Preditors are all being nice with the exception of BC who continue to add interest even though we are paying a very small amount now to all 3 BC accounts. I am about to write another letter to them and if that doesn't work, I may try writing to the CEO and see if that works. Lloyds finally agreed to default all the accounts, as only one had been defaulted so far and she did say that could take a month or two, but she would try and get the default date backdated to January, so need to see what is happening there and if that is all in hand.
So yes, all is well, even though I am not earning as much as I was, at least I feel well again, which is a bonus and I am sure things will all turn out ok in the end. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well today is a good day.....complained to BC about the fact that they were adding more interest than we were paying and explained about new DMP arrangements being lower due to my work situation and threatened them with Ombudsman if they didn't stop interest etc etc.......and guess what????
They are refunding the interest that they applied for the last 3 months and then stopping it COMPLETELY and.......we will be defaulted in 7 months time.....not sure why 7 months, but don't care really. We have finally beaten BC!!!!!!:T:T:T:T:T:TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Great news Ploppy - so glad to see you back and fighting the predators again
I've missed you. I feel an afinity with you as we started our DMP journies together and were going through the setup worries at the same time.
Keep posting -x-DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
