Agree, although the OP seems to be asking for advice, she isn't taking it, she isn't really giving enough information for good advice to be given.

I think she needs to vent.

And to be honest, its more her son's problem than hers. He needs to decide what to do and deal with the consequences of his decision ., not the OP.

I do feel sorry for him, but to not notice there isn't another wage going into a bank account.., it takes some avoiding. However clever the gf was.
