So you accept Homophobia isn't taught as in your words "someone at some point would have decided it's something to pick on". We both agree he wasn't taught to be homophobic.
Therefore if one person can be homophobic without being taught to be homophobic then anyone can be homophobic without being taught it!0 -
So you accept Homophobia isn't taught
I could go on about this forever. Please, you don't know how much I've studied this from things like knowing the bible has been translated 2883 times and many other things (the old testament being the original source is some languages).
Lets however get one thing clear, it IS taught. Don't try to twist my words because I know much more about this than you. This is something I've studied in-depth, not just something I've decided to try and pick a random argument on on a Saturday afternoon like you have.0 -

If you've studied it so extensively then you should have a good argument that says it is a trait that is exclusively taught!
I accept that some people will be taught to be homophobic but that is not exclusively the case.
I don't really understand the relevance of knowing how many times the bible has been translated. Although that is something you could find out by spending 2 minutes on google0 -

I'm not going to spend my entire afternoon explaining something to you I know more about than you obviously.
Or reading 152 pages.

Thats just one guys interpretation of the bible's position on homosexuality. I'm sure its a good read but its not the final word on the debate. I imagine there are similar books on the other side of the argument.
Besides you are moving the argument into an area I have no interest in. I am not a christian and don't therefore care what the bible's position on homosexuality is.
My only argument has been that homophobia is not something that is exclusively taught.0 -

By the way I'm gay & have friends who live in Manchester. I don't know anyone who can relate to what you've said so that's why I'm asking you.
Just out of interested do you know that around 98% of the time when gay people go out it will to be to places which aren't classed as gay bars/clubs? So basically how do you know (or think) that gay people in Manchester will only go out to the gay village area?
I will be totally honest...i dont discuss sexuality with any of my associates be they work colleagues or close friends. It just isnt relevant to me nor is it of any interest. People are people to me,all alike and all the same.
Its really non of my business.
As far as im concerned anyone who identifies themselves as gay can eat, drink and be merry wherever they like and i hope they have a thoroughly enjoyable time be they on their own or with friends and family.
I'm just not really sure why there is a gay village.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Could I ask how old you are?
I have a theory you are heading for pension age?
According to the new state pension rules, i cant draw mine until well past 65. I am currently in full time employment and will be so for some time.
Are you suggesting that certain age groups possess greater powers of perception? Are there certain signs that i should look out for should i choose to go on an afternoon of gay spotting? If you could let me know soon , i shall practice as i shall be out in Manchester on Sunday.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry).
