Annie, if it's the Glasgow Science Centre near the river and the SECC, it's absolutely brilliant for kids. I took my brother and sister about 2 years ago and it was a great day out. [STRIKE]Us adults [/STRIKE]The kids didn't want to leave

Yes, mooky, its the one near the SECC. I have heard that its a great day out. It's funny, because DS said only last week that he would love to go back to Eureka! at Halifax so now he gets pretty much what he wanted and I don't have to do all the driving. :j"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

How's everyone been? Haven't been on for a few days. Finished school now, and just caught up with myself:eek: Made a list of things to do, otherwise the six weeks go and I don't do them!:rotfl:
Got some done already, very satisfying crossing them off.
Sunshine today and all week according to the BBC:cool: Yeah!
DS went to the beach yesterday, came back looking ike a tomato:eek: Told him to use suncream.... He's got to be Best Man at his Fathers' wedding on Saturday, hope it's gone brown by then:rotfl:

Morning All,
Got all excited about 9 pm last night! Turned tap on and we seemed to have water and with reasonable pressure! Was able to flush the loo more than once! And even did a small wash in the machine
Woke up this morning to no water.......
Oh well.
Not sure of plans for today. Weather is good so maybe tidy up at lottie but don't want to get too sweaty and dirty. Gave house the de-flea spray treatment yesterday when it was sunny, then sat outside with kitten to let spray work for an hour just as clouds came over and it got very cold. Discovered my senior citizen cat had been hiding under the bed all along whilst I sprayed! I'd looked but she was in a corner I didn't see! She looked so freaked when I found her. She's not showing any signs of poisoning though - cross fingers.
Have an enjoyable day folks.0 -
Good morning everyone!
Just a quickie from me, busy trying to get the house sorted before we go off tomorrow for a couple of days. DH got a great deal on a Birmingham hotel, so looking to have a cheap break. Want to go to Stratford one of the days, may force myself to go shopping too!:D
Beautiful sunny day so washing on the line, and I might even give the grass a haircut. Actually it's thickening up quite nicely so we might even get to the point where I can call it a lawn soon:rotfl: I knew all that rain was good for something;)
I've been very good and prepared lots of homemade *ready meals* for DSs, so no excuse for a bin full of Domino Pizza boxes on my return:D Bet I'll find at least one!!:rotfl:
Glad the *flood* people seem to be close to some respite now. I'm full of admiration for the way you've coped:T
Well (((((hugs)))) to all who want/need them, and belated Happy Birthday to yesterday's birthday girls:D
CMxx
Nearly forgot!!!!! Snowy, have you made any decision about *increasing* your family? You know that bundle of fluff is calling you:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
morning!
was up at 5.45 but felt so awful with a thumping headache and nausea that I had to take some pills and go back to bed, didn't wake till 9.15! feel a lot better now thankfully but had been hoping to do a lot this morning but it'll have to wait as I'm off to town in a bit to take DS2 to have his hair thinned at the barbers - he's trying to grow it but its thick and curly - got some half price hair straighteners in Argos which work a treat on it!;)
Plans for today are ironing(a huge pile as I've been working all weekend) mowing the lawns, cleaning, washing, baking and loads more I'm sure!
Kyle - well done on some more weight loss!:T
have a great day in the sunshine all!
Take care, see you later xxxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi all, the sun is streaming through the window, what a treat. I'm up to date with the washing though, so can't take advantage today.
Am absolutely whacked out with all the cleaning, polishing, scrubbing etc I did yesterday, followed by a five mile walk. Oh well, hopefully it will shift some of the flab eventually. Today I intended to get up early (oops
), make a start on the upstairs and then scrub the kitchen out. So far I've had three coffees, breakfast, done the crossword and read my emails

So I'd better get on with something, don't want to waste this glorious day. I have a college session at 11 though so won't get as much done as I'd hoped. Oh well. It'll all still be there tomorrow (cleaning fairy has me on her blacklist)
Breakfast; grilled tomatoes, poached eggs on toast
Lunch: some sort of salad
Dinner: pork chops, mashed potato, broccoli and runner beans.
Oh yes, I picked my first tomatoes from my garden today!!! A miracle, after all my neglect and all that rain!!
Have a lovely day

Morning everybody :hello:
Had a relatively productive evening for a change - a visit to my neighbour, whose flat is beautifully clean and tidy in spite of her hyperactive 6 year old, put me to shame and motivated me to do some housework
Changed my bed, did a bit of decluttering, couple of loads of washing... net result is that it now looks like only a small bomb must have gone off :rotfl:
Went out to dispose of recyclables too, then on to Tesco, where I decided to stock up on Johnsons Holiday Skin (having never tried it before) while it's on special offer. Have tried the body lotion and the facial one, so I hope they work and stop me looking pasty
The only problem is that after ONE all-over application, even though I washed my hands afterwards as it says on the bottle, my palms and finger joints have picked up quite a lot of tan. Methinks I need to perfect my technique
Am at work today - another busy one although the main hurdle is out of the way (I put together a report that goes out in two different formats - the first is time critical (had to be done yesterday on pain of death) and will finish the second today).
I could do with another evening in, but there's a concert at the Proms which I'd quite like to go to. Basically there are 4 pieces of music in this concert - one of which I've never heard before and REALLY want to, one I'm not fussed about, and the other two I would actively go out of my way to avoid
Still I don't have to decide until later, and I have a season ticket so it won't cost any more/less either way. If I don't go I can listen to the interesting piece on Radio 3.
Must make time for a few other entertainments sometime soon, too... haven't seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yet, or the Simpsons movie... yes I'm just a big kid at heart
Right, better get on... Hugs to all
Love Rzl xx
