Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today Tuesday 31st July .This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.



Morning everyone, i cant sleep so thought i would do the honours this morning,
dw emptied, WM on, bathroom has had a quick going over. just got my flylady to do and the rest of my dailies which hopefully wont take too long.

Looks like another promising day here so will get all my washing dried on the line again today which is great because my OH shouted at the boys to tidy their bedrooms last night and i have about 5 loads of washing to do now thanks for that boys!!!
Anyway off for a cuppa and a browse before everyone else gets up.
Happy Birthday to anyone celebrating today.

Just got up and my back is hurting today after lying in lo's bed so will have a bath later.

need to make bread and hobnobs todays for lo's packed lunch tomorrow, first day of his playscheme, hope he enjoys it:D

tea will be veg chilli, havent made that in years:rolleyes:

Morning TOOTIES and all who follow. Weather looks VERY promising here so hope it is for everyone else, especially in the flooded areas.

I was up till quite late last night sorting out paperwork, shredding rubbish and reorganising my drawers; I now think I know where everything is!

Need to have a mega-organise of upstairs today. I have BIL, his DW and their DS8YO staying tomorrow night - they're going to France on Thusday and, as we live near to the ferries, they're staying with for the night. I've been on my own since last Thursday when DH went to France so I'm looking forward to having more than me to cook for! So that will keep me busy for a while.

I need to get some more salad stuff and make a crumble for their pudding so will just pop down to the village for that. Only one charity shop there so that should ensure I don't spend too much!

Anyway - going to put WM and BM on, have a shower and get a wiggle on.

Morning all!

I can't sleep either - first day of unemployment/freedom... I'm going to have a look at the Flylady thread this morning and try and get a bit of a housework plan together as the house desperately needs a good clean.

It's a gorgeous sunny day here - definitely good for drying towels and bedding. I'm also going to have to go for a bit of a walk at some point - I've got so unfit and I've no excuse now not to slowly get moving again.

OH is off to the airport soon to fly down to London for the day (his employers don't care about carbon emissions!!) and I'll be eating alone tonight - egg, HM oven chips and baked beans, I think, as he doesn't like eggs.

I'm going to make a cup of tea and get back into bed for a read. OH got sick of me fidgeting at about 1am and went off to another bed!

Good Morning All! Have been away for a week (great start to the school hols - bet no-one missed me!!)
Lovely day here too, so the dogs and I have already been for a long walk. Am going up to London later, and DIL and DGD are to come back with us for a few days. Room is ready already - how organised is that? Hopefully DIL will be able to figure out how the carpet cleaner works - I hate all these picture instructions!!
Kyle, hope your back feels better soon.

Morning All

Lovely sunny start here today to.

Normal stuff today, business paperwork done but need to make some phonecalls this morning. We are trying to change our soletrader business to a Ltd so lots of things to sort out with that.

Washing ironing and some housework today, Juliapenguin - think I too will have a look at Flylady today, think will only be up to Level 1 though!

Was going to go down to the beach today but my mother is popping over early afternoon rather than evening so that put paid to that. Also inlaws are coming over tonight - think I will make myself busy. They are comng as its OH birthday tomorrow. I cant wait till the weekend for his birthday treat- I am taking him to see Dirty Dancing (his fav) inlaws are having the kids and dog and I have now booked a hotel in Convent Garden for the night.

ANyway quick surf then will get on.

Good Morning all
Sunny again today here in Berkshire, so I will try to sort out my lavender bushes today, they are covered in bindweed & no matter what I do it keeps comingback as next doors flowerbed is covered in it.
I'll list some more stuff on Ebay today, I was telling my MIL about ebay yesterday, she was very interested & it prompted her to sign up for a Silver Surfers course at her local library.
I'm cooking chicken breast stuffed with cheese & wrapped in bacon with new pots & spring greens for tea tonigh tonight.

Sunshine again today, isn't it nice for a change.

I decided to throw the chicken away yesterday after leaving it out of the fridge all night, and sinned and bought an Asda ready meal I'm going to make Twinks hobnobs today, so that's another million calories :eek:

Just watching the footage of the supposed white shark in Cornwall, and all I can say is N9eav, be careful when you go fishing :eek:

Morning All,yet another sunny start and it looks promising. Had a lovely day yesterday with DD's in-laws, and got home eventually at gone midnight -little stop-out. They took me out for a nice lunch and then we spent the afternoon all sitting watching England getting thrashed at cricket on T.V. whilst knitting and jawing.the Ma-in-law and I anyway:rotfl:

Bargain Rzl cheers for the link I have put it in my favourites, and when I am up and running ,hopefully as soon as poss after my op. I want to investigate Royal Opera House in more depth. I had a look at the site and it's really good isn't it.I never knew so much went on there .:A

Well I am up with the lark this morning as because the sun is shining I don't want to miss a bit of it .I am waiting for the parcel post to arrive as my DD has had something diverted to my house as she is away in Devon on her Hols.
I shall take it to her house and sort out the post for her this morning .This afternoon I have my fortnightly craft class , last one for a little while as I shall be stuck indoors after I come home from the hospital,but I have a stack of cards to make when I'm at home and lots of material to practice on .My pal comes home from the U.S. on Thursday, and she said when she is over her jet-lag she will drop down to visit me as well.
Tomorrow my old conservatory is being demolished, and on Thursday and Friday the builders are coming to erect a new one.Then next Monday the plasterers come in and Tuesday the electricians .Wednesday the plumber to put the radiator back on so with a bit of luck it should be almost done before I go into hospital next Thursday. Whist I am in there my lovely son-in-law is putting a new floor in for me so when I come home it should-fingers crossed all be finished .Then I can sit in my glory and recouperate in it.:j

Morning everyone
had an ok night but I ache a bit today but I did do a lot of running about yesterday so at least I know why
the dog has an ear infection so I'm putting drops in his ears and he has to go back to the vets on thursday so will phone the insurance people up for a claim form so I can get the money back when his treatment is done
I have a funny feeling my mil is coming over today to see ds1 with his birthday presents for tommorow
I have some washing to do and will get the load from last night on the line in a mo and put some more on
the garden needs a bit of a tidy as well since it's been a bit neglected due to the weather
