Need to have a vent as I am so mad
OH just e-mailed me to tell me he has been suspended from work! :wall:
Apparently he mixed up two invoices or something and has cost the company £139. They are treating it as Gross Misconduct apparently and he has been suspended full pay whilst they investigate. This is his first mistake like this since joining the company in Aug
So as if I didn't have enough to deal with at the moment I have to face the prospect of OH being out of work again for the 2nd time in 5 years! Last time it was for 6 months and crippled me financially to the point I still haven't recovered
I'm just sick of constantly trying to keep going with one set back after another. Why we can't catch a break as a family is beyond me it really is
OH is F'ing useless with money so has sod all savings so muggins here will probably have to support him all over again as well as his money grabbing mother just like last time
To make matters worst at least last time I had savings this time I have no savings as I have been helping my mum out while she is on SSP while receiving treatment for cancer (2nd time in 2 years despite being told in Aug she was all clear )
I just don't know how much longer I can go on like this I'm already not sleeping properly and my stomach is constantly in knots I am dreading opening any post incase it's an unexpected bill
Sorry for the rant but if i don't let it all out here I may go home tonight and just completly lose it

The company suspended him for £139? sorry dont buy it.
Think hes telling u porkies. It costs 4x that to readvertise, + atleast that again for managers time in interviews, + time to set up it systems etc.
Its not gross misconduct.
I think u have questions to ask
oh and if suspended the company should provide this in writing, ask to see it0 -
Didn't want to read and run, just wanted to send you a hug. I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt with DH redundancies and trying to knit money out of thin air.
Just take a deep breath and try to look after your own sanity. There will be light at the end of the tunnel ( and it isn't always a train!!)0 -
Grit your teeth and toughen up girl....... Don't let it get the better of you..... My OH was made "redundant" twice over a period of 4 years.. both times she was just about to go on maternity leave... talk about sh.it timing.... Second time it came out of the blue and we'd just bought a new house too so we would be closer to her work (she's the higher wage earner in our house)
It was a struggle to say the least as she couldn't simply go get a new job as was sort of busy giving birth..
Boy it was a struggle....
You have to tighten your belt.... Whip that man into shape. absolutely NO spending that is not necessary..... i.e no going out, no treats, no holidays, no helping people out..... it's all about you and your immediate family now until such times as things change..
We're, after nearly 5 years, only now really getting to a stage where we'd even think of holidays etc... been a long slog but we did it..
hold your head high.... take a deep breath, take life by the scruff of the neck and soldier through it..
Good luck..0 -

TBH at the moment i feel like i'd welcome the train rather than the light

Thank you we have already spent the last couple of years tightening our belts i was hoping this would be our year to finally break even. I have even been looking at holidays for 2016 to celebrate my 30th and to finally have our honeymoon
I am just so mad at him for letting me down again each time he f's up it's me that suffers he just looks sheepish and says "see told you you'd be better off without me"First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

Another poster on these boards got sacked for posting a personal item in work time.
Seriously, if you have nothing constructive to say, say nothing.0 -

That was the reason the company mightve used, but not the reason they got sacked....
Seriously, you think employers are sacking good workers left and right? think again0 -
He may not be out of the probation period, so this would let them let him go.
And they may be wanting to down-size?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I must admit, I find it very odd that he is suspended on such a small amount.
Makes me think of a guy I worked with who was really lazy with his job, annoyed everyone and constantly late but with "valid" medial reasons. They couldn't get rid of him though, not until he made a small mistake and it was finally something they could sack him over. It took a year of him being a terrible employee though.
Makes me wonder if his management weren't very happy with him in the first place.
Sorry, its not any advice and doesn't help at all.0
