Sorry for being thick, but is this a "yes, there is a charger, but no, there is no headphones?" Is the USB Power Adapter and the Lightning to USB Cable what I use to charge it?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Yes. Do you really want your young kids using cheap in-ear headphones?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

My iPad has, over the last 3.5 years, filled up with films (imported for DVDs) etc for DD for car journeys etc. I struggle to manage with 32gb. I have a 128gb iPhone and will be struggling in a year or so.
However much she loves it there is NO WAY I'd be buying an iPad for my 4 year old (or indeed 6 year old). They're easy to break and a completely unnecessary thing to have to themselves.
Why not buy one full sized iPad (or android equivalent) with a decent amount of storage for the same outlay?
Thank you. I did wonder when it would come up that I was buying them for small children.
I'd prefer one device each to save arguing and so they have their own. And I have made the mistake of buying a cheaper tablet before, so I just want done with it with one that I know is good and that will last them a few years.
I know people say films use up a lot of space, but if I only have one or two on there that I can swap and change, then that should be okay, shouldn't it?
Like I say, they mainly use my phone for games (most of them are the free downloads) and to watch stuff on You Tube.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Look on the top floor in the technology bit, you may have to ask, they do like moving the returns cabinet around...
My Ipad mini 2 16gb was £260 when they were still £319 to give you an idea of discount.pollyanna24 wrote: »All starting to go over my head a little bit! How on earth would I put their own DVDs on the iPads?
As others have said either you buy them from Apple or someone else or convert them from a DVD you own.
Personally I use Handbrake to do it. Its not hard you do them in advance, and yes while videos can be big remember you won't need a full HD version, the screen is smaller and you can reduce the quality a little. An hours TV episode works out about 700MB for me.
You may simply put their favourite shows on and just need to put a few hours worth on to keep them occupied. Or you may want to put a few days worth on in which case you will need more memory. You cannot increase memory later, but if you go for a JL refurbished one it will be whats in stock anyway...pollyanna24 wrote: »Have noticed that the 16GB one is £199 wifi, but with cellular options (I'm assuming so you can use it out and about where there is no wifi) is £299.
Is it worth the extra £100 for this? Can it be added on afterwards to the cheaper model?
Only you can say if it's worth it but probably not in your case and remember you need a data contract too. The extra £100 is just the electronics to do it and no it cannot be added later.
You may be better looking if you can join them to your iPhone (tethering) to use your phone as a 3G hotspot, or a separate Mi-Fi, a device that acts to change 3G to wifi. Again you need a data contract, and tethering may or may not be permitted on your phones contract.0

You may find you spend a lot of time doing this, not a big issue but be prepared for it.
And as already pointed out you need to buy headphones/earphones0

I'm not sure. Are they bad for them? They have used them in the past, but generally I just ask them to turn the sound down when they are playing with my phone.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Apple supplied earphones are pretty rubbish to be honest.
And they will turn their ipads up as far as they can when you are not around 0 0
