iPad Mini

If you own an iPhone then presumably you know how much space you have/ how much you have used.
The iPad predominately has the same OS and the same apps. There are some iPad only apps that may be a bit bigger than their iPhone sisters but its not night and day difference.
You have two options with not paying three times for each app. First one is to say they are all yours and so they do all get everything but that also means they share the same iCloud synching so all will have the same contacts/ calendar etc.
The other option is to use the Friends and Family sharing where most apps will be available across all the devices but some may not where the developer hasnt agreed to it. You do each then have your own contacts etc though.
To get existing DVDs onto the devices you need to get them onto your computer and into iTunes. Many now come with a download code if you want to do it that way or altneratively get free software like Handbrake and it will convert it for you - Handbrake is particularly easy as it has present menu and you just select that you intend to view it on an iPad Mini 3 (or whatever) and it'll select the best settings that are compatible with the device automatically.0

Thanks for this. I really should have looked into all this before. Technology is just passing me by.
Think my phone is pretty full, but I have a lot of pictures and videos on there that I have taken. I will delete this as I have them all on disc and then see how much space I have.
I also have my girls' game on my phone, but I presume that when they get their own iPads, they will have their own favourites on there and so it won't be every app on all three devices.
Like the idea of putting the DVDs on there. Something to look into. Will have to see about these codes though and where they would be.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

For DVD transfer have a read here http://www.wikihow.com/Add-a-Movie-to-Your-iPad
Putting movies on will eat up memory fairly quickly0

Doing my homework and looking up various things.
Have noticed that the 16GB one is £199 wifi, but with cellular options (I'm assuming so you can use it out and about where there is no wifi) is £299.
Is it worth the extra £100 for this? Can it be added on afterwards to the cheaper model?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Thank you. For movies, it's probably something that I would put onto the iPad if we were going on a long journey and then delete when we get home. So I wouldn't keep a load of films on them I don't think.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

 No and no.
If you get a cellular one then you need a SIM to access stuff so that is more cost.
You cannot add the option of cellular to a wifi only model0

Don't do it OP. Just don't.
My iPad has, over the last 3.5 years, filled up with films (imported for DVDs) etc for DD for car journeys etc. I struggle to manage with 32gb. I have a 128gb iPhone and will be struggling in a year or so.
However much she loves it there is NO WAY I'd be buying an iPad for my 4 year old (or indeed 6 year old). They're easy to break and a completely unnecessary thing to have to themselves.
Why not buy one full sized iPad (or android equivalent) with a decent amount of storage for the same outlay?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Looking at the link that someone put on here to the refurbished models. Do these come with chargers and headphones? Can't see if they do on the website.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
