    Morning All

Well last night passed in a blur, options evening with DD and then Scouts. However I also had a phone call from one of DD's teachers asking me to go and see her before the options evening, now I know DD has been having issues with this particular teacher and is always coming home ranting and raving about her. I also know that she struggles with this particular subject - Science. So I went prepared to be standing my ground about there being a clash of personalities and although I know my DD can be mouthy none of the other teachers have a problem with her and to see what can be sorted out. Well that never really came up because it turns out that because DD is having issues with her she's not doing the work in class so she's got whole lessons where she's only written 2 lines. She's now got to catch all the work up and she has no idea what the lessons were about because she's just been switching off! So now she needs to bring a textbook home and work through stuff from scratch which is not the best way for her to learn but there's nothing else she can do. I'm fuming!

Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant!

Anyway tea at M&D's as usual tonight so not sure I'll get much done so it'll be the weekend again.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

  • Julie we are having issues with our 14 yo too. He is very bright - and well behaved in class - just wont put the effort in. He is currently doing assessments and in a way I hope he does badly and it makes him realise that he has to work. I am quite worried about him but its hard to get the balance right. The more you go on about something with a teenager the more they just dig their heels in!

Paid stuff today, will do kids bedrooms and bathrooms later. Have got a car boot full of old clothes to recycle too.

Tired this morning but sitting here in my jim jams with wet hair is not going to get me to work on time!!!

Bossy .. it was you I immediately thought of when the girls told me what he had said.. why would any decent person, not even a parent, want to put a child through that?? It is just sick... That is something you wouldn't wish on someone you hated let alone yourself.. well, they do say 'you reap what you sow' .. I'll have DD1 ask him about it.. she loves his lies as much as I do.

    Anyway.. back to sensible people..

Valli.. If she wants you more than one day make her pay up.. you're not a slave and why should you be out of pocket because her hubby is too much of a tart to drive in snow.. surely if it is something that you are concerned about doing it is the best way to overcome that fear.. stupid man.. it's probably just an excuse to not go out in the cold.. or clear the drive or defrost the windows!!

*poisoned bait* laid down for BD's ... time to do them all in.

Hello there. Well my list is rather LARGE today!
I'm not even attempting to get it all done as I'm actually going back to bed shortly to sleep ready for tonight. First night back after a while off and I've been ill for so long :(. Back to the gym on Monday morning. Decided to give myself until then to try and recover from the bugs.
I had a phone call from DS's school yesterday. They were concerned because he'd come over all dizzy. When questioned, they asked to see his lunch. He had 2 slices of dry bread  and 2 slices of orange . He told them he has to make his own lunch :( because Mum's at work and his sister has gone to school. When questioned where his Dad is, he said "I think he's there!". Eejit. I then had to explain that he has to make his own lunch because we all got fed up of making it and him leaving it. That we were fed up of the chopping and changing of what he will and won't eat and that we have bought cheese & crackers, ham, cheese, tuna, eggs and he decides he won't eat them. I explained we had settled on PBJ which (although not ideal) at least provides him with some protein.
I then rang them back later and said he will be making his own lunch still but that I would like them to check it pre and post lunch if they are able.
These kids are going to be the death of me! He's 11 for heavens sake. Surely old enough to pack his own lunch?
    *Sorry, rant over!

I have just got up as I have come down hard with DH's cold - every bone aches. No immune system is a / causes pain!

Feel free to skip this next bit.

If you read it I hope it helps it helped me at the time.

LW - re your idea about the BD in a box. I used to go to a cancer group support where there was a lovely therapist who did guided visualisations. I had forgotten this until you mentioned it but one I loved and felt really worked was just before I went to sleep I imagined all my worries and concerns being put into a big box, sealed with a beautiful ribbon and attached to the hugest balloon you could ever imagine. I then let it go up up up into the black velvet sky where I watched until it almost disappeared out of sight - bit like the International Space Station on Xmas Eve. Then when I could hardly see it, it would burst into a thousand tiny stars. I'd go off to sleep peacefully after that.

Pigpen - the saying I have always been told is be careful what you say/do as it can come back to you threefold.

Not planning on doing much today. Catch you later. x

    Morning all.

Julie - I hope your DD can catch up with her work. Maybe having to do all this extra work will make her realise its easier just to get on with it in school no matter how much you dislike the teacher. *hug*

Kaz - I've had periods similar to this with DD. I'm checking them now as she makes her own and I noticed that the fruit I was buying for it wasn't going down but the crisps, chocolate biscuits and cheese were, then other days nothing seemed to be eaten! At least an apple made it into the lunch today. She's suddenly decided she needs to start eating healthier so is making more of an effort.

DD has her last exams today and a history test. She thinks she's flunked her maths exam as she didn't do the last 5 questions as she ran out of time. Considering she was doing the higher paper I don't think she should be too worried but I'm really not surprised she didn't complete it as maths homework always takes her the longest. I'm hoping she'll be a little less stressed now.

I spoke to DD before she left and we've agreed that she'll help me clean tomorrow including outside as she loves cleaning the brass on the front door! We only have 1 skip left outside now (hoping it'll be collected today;)), but there's all sort of rubbish in the gutter which needs to be cleared up and the street cleaner isn't due until Monday or Tuesday after the binmen have been. We need to clean the back yard as well after I cleared all the rubbish. I wasn't able to do it all on Monday due to work.

Todays plan is dailies, a food inventory so I know what exactly I've got in (I've managed to get so many reduced bargains this week my freezer is full!) maybe even a meal plan, laundry, and as much admin as I can get through. I have no cleaning cloths left so they all need to be washed after I've done the other 2 or 3 loads. All this will be done while I catch up with my programmes as I have over a weeks worth of stuff sitting on the dvr and that's not including all the films I've recorded :o Since we're cleaning tomorrow, I'm going to delete the rooms lists and just work on my personal one.

    Misc:
    Laundry
    Food inventory
    Filing
Go through HD books for recipes
    Toots list
Clear 3 folders on hard drive back to laptop
Work through folder of magazine articles I've pulled
Type up recipes to keep & file them, chuck originals (magazine pages usually ;))
    Walk 5.5miles minimum

Right, time to get on with email and surveys stuff.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
