Let me know who comes in reasonably, we need to replace the study window to turn it into bens room in the next month (7 windows in our house... 6 are upvc and one is ancient wood and in awful condition.... why would you replace all the windows except one?!)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yep that was us.... I see your point. They'd spent a fortune on insulation on the garage though to turn it into a top notch grow houseDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yep, should have had my MSE head on before I stripped out all the kit, could have cleared the debt in weeks if I'd looked at it as an unexpected business opportunity.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Was going to say the same as Dinah, local companies are the best
And they're typically a lot more reliable than national ones as they obviously work on word of mouth than massive £££ campaigns. I think mine were around £3k (8 windows, two doors)
Had such a tiring weekend!! Woke up hoping some magic had happened and we'd been gifted an extra Sunday. Had my Sister's early Thanks Giving meal, which was sickeningly authentic as we had to go around the room and say what we were thankful for (I was thankful for the open cards against humanity stack in front of me so I could use jokes as a crutch to avoid real emotions :A) and then we had OH's family over yesterday and cooking a roast for 7 is exhausting. But it was a good excuse to make this cake and it was beautiful
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
ETA: meant to say Birdie, get the dress! Do it for me! I'm still upset I couldn't get myself one for the wedding and no maternity dresses come close to that level of pretty!0 -
I got the wiggle version of the dress
I also have this on the way and plan on wearing it all Christmas! :snow_grin
Sounds like a great foody weekend Cinny, my favourite kind!
Can't help with the windows question Tete, but I'd definitely check out a local company. I get what you mean about not wanting someone round to measure up/quote if it's out of your budget but not knowing what to expect because they can't give you a price until they've measured up! Gah!
Dinah - maybe the old house owners got a BOGOF on the windows so only bought an even number?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Early thanksgiving sounds good and lots of eating all weekend very good.
Took Heidi to out of hours sat and she has bronchiolitis. Is viral so got to ride it out. Poor thing sounds so meek and croaky when crying.0 -
Exactly Birdie. Anyway, that's on the back burner for now (despite the fact I feel like Eskimo Nell here) - trotted along to the bank where the mortgage is, death certificate in hand, expecting them to hand it over, but nope. Because my aunty is named as the executioner they won't deal with me! Turns out things are more complicated than I anticipated so we're going to get a solicitor in to do it all for us. I feel marginally less stressed knowing that she has to help me now, although I'm disappointed it's obviously going to drag on. Can't believe I thought it would all be sorted by the time I go back to work in December! So naive! :rotfl:
Thanksgiving meal sounds lovely, though I am doing my best with Slimming World. I'm a stone down but have hit a bit of a plateau. Maybe once I start running again...
Hope Heidi is better soon, sounds horribleWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I think you're lucky that you weren't familiar with the process Tete, means you've not had to do it before! I actually wouldn't know what to do if anything happened to a family member. Have you been left everything by your Dad?
Well done on losing a stone too! When is your next half marathon?
