Cinny, we bought one of those little baby care kits and never used it!

I was thinking that'd be the case! Think we'll just get the clippers and the digital thermometer - like you said if there's anything we need we can just pop and get it! Don't know if OH and I are being cynical or tight (or both!) but a lot of things you're told to buy just seem a little.. pointless?!

Bless Zach! He didn't want to believe the holiday was over :p Your photos look amazing though, it looks like you had an awesome time :) Our plan is to wait until Fox is about Zach's age before we go on our first holiday with him and go on a Disney Cruise. Obviously, to keep Fox entertained.. nothing to do with me

Hope your Dad is okay!! :(

I keep thinking of Tete :( Hoping she's okay, my heart always leaps a bit (in a happy way!) when I see she's posted on instagram :) xx

What bottles have you tried with Heidi, Wendz? That's one of my worries with Fox if I can EBF - not being able to pump and leave him with someone if I need to (or when someone steals him away!) if he doesn't take to bottles. We got a starter kit of the MAM ones though, so fingers crossed.

I just have my OH left to buy for Christmas wise, have everything picked but I'm just waiting for offers to drop in the December lead up. Went shopping last Thursday to do a run around and get all the "extra" gifts sorted for friends and I was so exhausted. Glad it's done, but I could have taken a nap by the time I got back to the car :rotfl: Although tbf, I can walk to work and want to take a nap. Actually did the "head drop" yesterday while I was copying up the cash book :o:o:o:o:o

Nope, you're seeing through the marketing! There are so many things that you really don't need. We have so many things that we never used, and most of them were given to us by people who'd bought them and never used them, and so we've passed them on to BIL to not use! :p

Fox will love the holiday, I'm sure! We thought it would be really hard work and we'd miss out on loads and be stuck in the hotel room every night but it wasn't like that at all. We got to see the parks in a different light as we got to explore and enjoy the little kiddie areas that we've just walked past before, and seeing his face on the rides and during shows etc was just magical. :blushing: He had a couple of naps and time outs during the day (he'd just decide it was time for sleep/chill out so would climb into the pushchair, grab his blankie and he'd be out of action for an hour!) so we'd go on the rides one at a time whilst he was snoozing/chilling in the pushchair so we didn't miss our 'must do' rides, on a night he'd come out with us, have his dinner and some milk then would just sleep in the pushchair when he'd had enough. Such a good little travel buddy!

I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping though! :o Luckily we don't have a lot of people to buy for as we do secret santa with DH's family (and once again I'm buying for MIL and DH is buying for FIL, neither are easy to buy for so we're a bit stuck!), with my family we just have to get gifts for Mum, Dad and my nephew. All I know is that nephew wants a bean bag, otherwise I'm clueless! DH and I are getting a new vacuum cleaner as our joint pressie (exciting! :rotfl: ) and have £30 budget to get some little bits to open but no idea what to get him. Not sure about Zach, Mum's getting him a little kitchen and some bits to go with it but I don't know what to get him from us or Santa. Maybe a balance bike? I don't even know what I want! So... yeah, Christmas is a bit of a bad word to me right now! :p

That's amazing! :rotfl: I think we've done well so far only buying what we'll use, only thing I can think we've got that's in excess is the nappy disposing system that OH's mum bought us without thinking we'd be using prefolds. BUT it might come in handy if we wind up using disposables, so I shouldn't really complain :o

Sounds like it worked really well with him! His reaction to Goofy (I think it was Goofy!) was the best photo ever, clearly having the time of his life at the happiest place on earth :p

I'm only so sorted with Christmas because 15 of the family members we buy for are getting taken for a meal.. kind of cheating ;) I'm struggling to know what to ask for, though! I think in a panic I said "yankee candles and socks" so it's nice to know I'm already settled into Mum gifts.

Very quick as teaching again in 10 mins but there are some bottles in the boxes that are in my hall ready to send you Cinny, so you can try different types to see what he likes. They're also freezer safe so you can express into them and store them if you decide to do that. Many only used once as my two were so picky on what they'd use!

I tried mam and avent but to be honest haven't tried that hard. I think the best thing is to give them a bottle regularly from a young age. I hate expressing which is half the reason I have been lazy.

Ooohh what nappies did you get Cinny? We use cloth for daytimes with R if you ever want to chat. We did used to do nighttimes too but tbh I think disposables perform better over a long period and I never figured out a way to boost the nappies properly for 12h use. So exciting!

Wendz glad to hear you're doing well, your girls are just gorgeous. Hope Crimbo won't be too stressful if you're hosting your folks.

Birdie, glad you had an ace holiday! Sounds like Little Z is a brilliant traveller, I'm well jealous. Poor kiddo having the pox. I hope your Dad feels better soon x

Dinah, sounds great about the nursery. Brill news that NIM is enjoying his new job, although I hope they get their act together on rota-ing. As ever I'm massively impressed by the debt-busting.

I'm horribly busy in my new job, I've had so many deadlines lately I'm rinsed out. Everything seems to get squished up between August and Thanksgiving. (Which is next Friday, I can't wait for some time off.)

Lots of love if you're reading Tete xxx

We've gone for the Bambino Mio ones, Lara :) mostly because Aldi had them in the baby event - 4 prefolds and 2 covers for £9.99 :money: and the reviews were good! We've got some boosters for night time but we've got a box of nappies too just while we 1) get into a routine and 2) figure out what the flip we're doing. I'm just hoping they work for us! Was so blummin confusing figuring out all the different brands, doesn't seem like any two nappies are the same :o

Hope you enjoy your time off! How's everything going over there? Do you feel more settled?

And thanks for the bottles, Dinah! It'll be like a baby-Christmas when they get here! I'm hoping he takes to MAM ones.. purely because I like how easy they seem to clean and sterilise compared to others :o #lazymum2be

I don't suppose anyone has anything to buy from Toys R Us? I have a £5 off £25 voucher that came in the post and I'd hate to just throw it away if someone can use it. It's in store only from the 20th - 25th of November if anyone wants it popped in the post??

I used pocket nappies, lollipop pop'n'grow and eBay cheapies. Always used disposables for night as I was too afraid to risk nighttime wakings. I also used mam bottles, they were brilliant.

Hope everyone is ok, thinking of Tete most days. Glad NIM likes his new job.

We are ok, toddler Kavics is turning 3 tomorrow. She is just utterly awesome, completely fluent in 2 languages. We have been travelling quite a bit in the past two months, sadly her birth certificate is still not sorted in the UK although I was hoping to close the issue by now. I'm also single again, things just didn't work out with the guy in Switzerland. sorry for not checking in more often, Will try to make an effort.

We have a new toys r us here but I have done all the children shopping and must not do anymore!

Happy birthday mini Kavic! That is amazing she is fluent in two languages, clever thing.

Poor Heidi has a cold and can't breath at night so very little sleep for me . We are off to music group today and possibly lunch with some mums so coffee time for me I think .
  • Hi lovely ladies, thanks for all your kind wishes - here, facebook, wherever else...

The funeral was yesterday. The sun came out after a morning of pssy rain and so many people (many I didn't even know) came to say goodbye and share memories. It was tough at times but mostly a lovely day. The hard part starts now though really, I'm a proper daddy's girl and will miss him so much.

Re. baby stuff you never use - I'm sure there was a thread on here a few years back, one of those The Great... Hunts that Martin puts in the email?

Hope you're all well, speak soon xx
