Fastest pregnancy ever Cinny! How are you feeling?

It sure feels like it! And I'm doing fine, thanks :) Only real issue has been heartburn/energy levels so I think I've got off lightly so far!

I'm quite excited about potentially having a big chunky baby though, I've got to say :o My niece was 6lb-ish and I was terrified holding her because she was so dinky!! I'd like to think it would be different if mine were that tiny, but I'm thinking I'd just be more horrified by it all :o

Glad Heidi seems a bit better :)

I can't get my head around how quickly your pregnancy is flying Cinny! I wouldn't take any stock from what the baby is measuring, it's all guesswork. That said, I think my MW suspected I was growing a monster and just didn't want to scare me so kept her mouth shut! :p It's strange though as Zach was 2 weeks over and was 9lb10, my new nephew was about 10 days overdue and was only 7lb... you kind of assume that all overdue babies are going to be massive, but they're not! It would be very cool to have a leap year baby! :) And of course, I continue to have everything crossed that he comes out ginger! ;)

    How's Heidi now, Wendz?

She's a bit better but still coughing . Struggling to get her to sleep in cot at night now as well.

Just been to dentist to have a filling redone and left her with her dad. At least I don't have to pay as on maternity exemption still!

My next appointment is on the 15th of December, how is that even possible?? Feel like Christmas will be gone in the blink of an eye and he'll be here before I know what's up. Also hoping he's ginger :p We had a change of heart over the name we'd picked and how his initials spell out O.W.L and that's basically the most adorable thing ever, the first name is 100% suited to a ginger kid :D

Pregnant lady freebies are the best, in a "I have to suffer but at least I don't have to pay for it" kinda way. Hope it wasn't too painful!!
  • Also hoping he's a ginge! Are there any redheads on your OHs side Cinny?

Thats so cute :) Poppy's intitals spell out PEAR, wasnt intentional and didnt even realise until someone on facebook mentioned it!
I wouldnt worry too much about measurements, DS was measuring small (even had extra scans they told me when I was 39 weeks to expect him to be around 5lb), he was 3 days late and 9lb 4oz! DD was also 9lb, I wouldnt know what to do with a little baby! :rotfl:

Hope your holding up ok Tete and it doesnt take too long to sort everything out xx

I'm the only ginger, Archers! Going back on my side it seems to skip a generation as I'm sure my Mum's Dad was a redhead, so his chances are slim but I'm keeping the faith!

Nice hearing all the stories about measuring vs actual birth weights. Guess they really have no idea! I'm sure I'll think he's perfect whatever weight he comes out :p #bodypositivity

Mum Question - what bedside crib would you reccommend? Or what did you use? I really like the Chicco Lullago but can't find a wide variety of reviews on it, and it's never set up in any of the shops so I'd feel like I was buying it blindly? :(

We had a Troll bedside crib. Absolutely loved it, as well as being height adjustable for our fairly high bed because it has bars we could put a mobile onto the side (we only realised this when we couldn't put a mobile on the solid side of the hospital cot), but the really big plus point for us was that it's varnished wood not fabric, both my kids spit up a lot, I washed their bedding daily, a fabric cot would have needed taking apart and washing daily or it would have become really stinky and mouldy very quickly as Christ the range those babies could get with their milky vomit - we even had to repaint a wall once - we got through a lot of mattresses before we discovered Mothercare mattresses which have no fabric externally so are completely mould resistant. For us it was also great that it's on wheels so we could push them from lounge to bedroom when they were asleep, but that's not so useful if you're not in a bungalow. How big it is and how long it will last them is also something to consider, the bedside crib lasted both of mine until about 20lbs. But yeah, ease of wiping down is my number 1 suggestion for EVERYTHING baby. We had a high chair once with a padded seat and all the food used to pool into the seams, it was vile. That lasted a few weeks before we got a solid seated one!

  • Hi all,

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! We had a lovely time today at the cinema with the kids and a wander around the shops. It was certainly the weather for the cinema, it is so cold out.

With all my excitement last week I forgot to post on here. We went sale agreed on a house on Wednesday and on Thursday I reached my target in Slimming World. I lost 1 1/2 stone in total, and am 1/2 lb under my target. Or should I say was 1/2 lb. I've stuffed myself since Thursday but my head will be straight back into it tomorrow. I want to maintain the weigh, defo don't want to be putting it on again.

  • Just checking in. I have got a new job as a receptionist at a spa about fourteen miles away. It's only min wage at the moment but I am so please to have a job and to be getting some money coming in. Things have been really tight but it has only been this week that we have had to use the overdraft. It is a really ego boost as I actually thought no one else would want me. So I am going to try and live as tight as we have been and then throw as much as we can at the credit cards.
