How does Christmas work for you Wendz? Will you have the girls for Christmas Day?

Their dad is working Christmas Day from about 2pm so will come round in the morning to watch them open presents. I'm not sure what will happen in future but he isn't as fussed by Christmas as me so hopefully I will have the, at least part of Christmas Day each year.

Zachary sounds so cute, can't believe he will be 2 soon!

Dinah - good luck in your challenge, you will be great.

He's due on the 15th of February, CMD :) There are 4 other birthdays in February so I'm hoping he dodges all of them so he gets his "own" day. Not sure where it's all going either, Birdie!

We used moving house as the best excuse to just empty everything, CMD. It's exactly what we did, although I admit I was kind of ruthless with it :o

Zach is adorable, Birdie!! Can't believe he's almost two either  Gotta start having words with these kids, how dare they grow up?

Sounds like a good plan for Christmas Wendz. :)

Oooh Cinny, Zach was due on the 10th Feb and arrived on the 24th... I'd like to put my money on Fox arriving on the 24th just because it'll be cool! :)

Great challenge Dinah, liked the page and will do the sharing malarkey tonight. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Continuing my fairly radical decluttering, throwing out or donating about 80% of the stuff in the attic. Today I found my old diaries, I was just going to chuck them as I really don't ever need to read about old boyfriends again, but actually there is very little of that in there, it was lovely that the first page I opened was the day I met a friend at uni who is the only one I'm still close to 10 years later. But anyway, the reason I bring it up is the new years resolution list 2002:

How is it 14 years later and I STILL haven't gotten myself together to spend less?! (also I want to shake the 8 stone 8lb me to enjoy life instead of obsessing over being a rake!.... but again, 14 years later, still on a quest for that goal weight). Got to admit it's shaken me somewhat to see I've spent half my life in pursuit of the same changes. I was already feeling pretty determined, but, new year new start. We're planning to spend the first few months recording every penny we spend, 2016 needs to be the year we leave all debt (except the mortgage) behind so we can just get on with life. But to get to that place I need to finish the decluttering as I'm always going to need a nice clean, smart environment, and I can't focus on money making/moving forward until I get these darned kids upstairs into their own rooms - mama needs a good nights sleep!

Taking them to see the enchanted parks lights in Newcastle tonight, so will be a late one as they'll no doubt fall asleep in the car. Think they'll love it though.

Quidco contract has now finished, have to say I'm a little relieved. While I really enjoyed what I was doing, the pay wasn't great compared to everything else that I do, and I was finding working so many jobs too much to handle. Feeling freer to prioritise what really matters rather than being all about work. They made it very clear it wasn't my work rather they've had some internal issues which means they're not going in this direction anymore, which is what I suspected as they only put out a miniscule proportion of the work I did for them as they just didn't seem to have the time/resources to get it out in time. Just waiting on that invoice to be paid now.

Car amazingly made it through the MOT with only £35 of repairs (some egit mechanic had glued shut a headlight cover rather than using screws so had to replace the whole unit because of a blown bulb). Despite this the handbrake doesn't hold on hills so I still need to take it for some repairs.

How are you doing Tete? Think about you a lot. Hope our card made it through, I wrote it, addressed it and it was on the mantlepiece, but it vanished so I'm hoping NIM or mum took it and posted it to be helpful because it's certainly not here anymore.

We do love a shared birthday on this thread !

Dinah - Sounds like you have some good motivation to get rid of the debt next year. I think writing down all spends will definitely help .

    Good news on the mot!

Glad the car behaved for its MOT and that you'll have a bit more time without quidco dinah

Well done to your car! I always get a bit of a lump in my throat when people mention MOTs - it's just the unknown.

I did casually mention it a few posts back :o But I'm now a Mrs! Was just a small registry office ceremony with our family and a few friends, then we shoo'd everyone away and went for a meal and then to the cinema. Finished up the day at my Sister's with wine (or water in my case.. wild!) playing cards against humanity. Had a big family meal yesterday too (although that was actually planned before the wedding was as everyone's Christmas present) So all in was a long but good weekend! :) This Saturday coming we've decided we're staying at home with X Files and not seeing anyone for a day :p For anyone not on Facebook, here's us plus the bump pretending to sign things!

  • That sounds lovely Cinny, and the type of wedding you've always said you've wanted, congratulations again!
