    Wonga :(

    Anything worn/used/signed

    Plus many of the above

I did laugh at myself last night as I passed a comp for a trip to New York and entered the next one for a cheese voucher :rotfl:

i would prefer to lie about my age if i could

i remember the days of only needing the 2nd option '20-29' now i have to scroll down the ages :(

It's the ones where it has a few young options then 36+ that get me, it might as well just say we think anyone ticking this is old...

Another thing that honestly is driving me crazy of late: comps to win a camera which require you to take a picture with a camera of some sort. Hmm now what on earth could possibly be wrong with this equation?

Oh I clearly forgot bog roll in my earlier list too. I draw the line sharing toilet roll socially. Come on!!

^ I did moan to Nikon about a photo comp as anyone who was going to take a good enough pic to win would probably already have a better camera than the prize on offer..

I do enter for bog roll...

I don't have many ethics re companies when it comes to my needs/wants, apart from anything to do with shooting/hunting/real fur, of which the odd one gets on here.

I dislike cheap tat, goody bags, useless plastic things, blog comps where it looks like things have been used, horrible clothes (can apply to designer too although I dither then..), angling/equine, babies/kids, conservatories/kitchens/bathrooms/blinds, most wedding comps (some have nice shoes/make up...), long holidays, hols in London, even events on the other side of London (takes far too long to get across London!) holidays to places that seem a bit iffy, hols without flights, juicing/yoga hols (though sometimes I give in but I know I'd starve), most effort comps, postals/text, on air, selfies/pics of family, any where I have to give a reason why I want/deserve something, surveys, playing games, high scores, votes, conventional/chemical skincare (only use organic so only enter if something family specifically likes), dvds/cd's unless really good, gay/Jewish (though sometimes I've given in if it's a really good dvd), most blogs/gleam never works that well, anything to be used within really short notice, any fb app comps that want access to my photos (nosey f*ckers) and I try and limit l/s comps.

Personally I love Apple - once you use one you probably wouldn't go back - so it would make my year to win something but am quite happy to see others avoid these :D
  • Kirri, I certainly went back. I have no ethics and I am also a traitor lol.

Ok here's one: baby blog with driving lessons specifically for younger people. What the..?

I have started to be very picky too which has resulted in most of my MSE pages having red crosses all the way down them! As time has gone on, I have stopped entering any raffle copters, they are so time consuming and I don't like to see that '17657' entries have been made....I mean, what are the odds? Probably so many entries for other comps but I just don't like seeing it in black and white!
Thanks to all those fab compers who post:j:T

Sadly mse will always be full of people that are unable to add to this thread due to no ethics at all.... and i would say they are too busy posting comps on the site for everyone else... alas..... the only time they post is IWIWIW lol

I'm a bit shocked at some of the things listed on this thread that people don't enter on the grounds of ethics, what is unethical about cheese? spa breaks and Rafflecopters? to name a few.

I think the ethics bit went out the window and everyone started reeling off what they won't enter

ethically i won't go for baby comps as i know how expensive that stuff is - although thats probably more morals

  • I don't go for babies, kids or family stuff as I don't have kids. I don't use Gransnet/Older Is Wiser/50Connect etc as I'm not an older person.

Anything else where the prize appeals to me (not scourers or cheese) and I fit the demographic is fair game.

I do tend to often opt out of small local-based ones for an area I'm not in too though, to help their business grow locally.

Anyway, I'm interested to see some of the reasons or types of comps some of you steer clear of entering. In unity through our differences?

Certain newspaper sites I will not enter but that is because of the spam potential rather than the political stance of the paper, although I wouldn't enter any extreme right or left wing ones if they did run them.
I don't do Instagram or Pinterest simply because I haven't set up accounts.
Very rarely do any E-mail entry or any rafflecopters or blogs.
Mag dailies, too much bother (do click2wins occasionally).
Sometimes for no reason beyond that I simply don't like the look of a site.
    Twitterlicious or something like that.
    Sites/prizes from outside the UK.
Radio/tv if you have to go on air.
None that require payment including postals.
Slow loading sites and those with "pop-ups/unders".

Ends up somewhere around 90 to 95% that I don't enter (I don't always enter the ones I post).
