Nice of you to join MSE to berate us all though
I hope you receive your order with no problems and your "words of wisdom" don't come back to bite you in the bum.0 -
I ordered contacts in December, it is now February. I sent a followup email and got this reply:
Thank you for your email. We would like to inform you that our logistics partner made a mistake and some of these shipments were mistakenly routed and hence the parcel has been lost. Kindly confirm if you would like us to send you the replacement lenses or would like a refund.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
I wrote them that I would like them to send the lenses but followed up with an email asking them to expedite them at their cost and to send me the tracking number. I will give them one week and if they haven't replied to me that the order is shipped, I will request a refund and then put up negative reviews all over the Internet.

Jackrabbit, just wondering did u ever receive your order???0 -
lanabanana22 Jackrabbit appears to have joined solely to make that one post, never to post again. Thius can often be a sign of a spam post.
Reading his post he seems to be based overseas.0 -

Thank goodness I've not ordered yet. I emailed Lensplanet 2 days ago asking them to confirm whether they were UK based or overseas so I would know whether to factor in potential UK customs import charges when comparing prices. I am still awaiting a reply so googled their company and found this forum thread. Since reading these, as there is scanty positive feedback, I will be giving it a miss but please do post if you have positive reports in 2011 to add as it could sway my mind back. Otherwise going for Get Lenses at £8 more as it's not worth saving £8 if they don't ever turn up.0

After posting this last year, I received a reply after 2 days to the email I mentioned, in which they answered all i asked so decided to take the risk and place order however when I did I added notes about all the complaints/experiences I read about on here, asserted that it was extremely important I receive the order speedily and that if I didn't I would have to update the thread to that effect. Received an email immediately confirming dispatch would be made in 2-3 days time when i would receive a confirmation email again and would take up to (i think) they said 10 days for delivery. Seemed a little weird to receive confirmation of their intention to dispatch the order - as all mail order companies should 'intend' to do this lol - and in 4 days when I hadn't received a dispatch confirmation, I emailed again attaching previous correspondence and expressing my disappointment strongly if they had now failed to keep their word, expressing apologies if their email had simply crossed with mine, but also stating if I didn't receive the email within 24 hours and then the delivery based on the content of that dispatch confirmation email, I would be very cross indeed and forced to express that anger by posting plain and simple honest poor reviews on as many retailer review sites i could find with regard my experience with them. I am pleased to say I didn't have to resort to any of this - not sure i would have had the energy to follow through even - and I did receive the dispatch confirmation and then the lenses very speedily. :T
Therefore, I believe stating your reservations and quoting other people's many poor experiences found on here or any other sites you see, with the potential threat you yourself will follow up by posting poor reviews online if your experience is also poor will actually get you the results you should receive as standard from any company but more importantly, your lenses!
It's a little too hard ball for my taste and shouldn't be necessary but on this occasion it worked and for the time and effort required to write the email was well worth the £8 extra I would have had to pay if I'd gone to the next cheapest supplier.0 -
I have recently had dealings with this company. I have found that they have various websites:
contactforlenses.com
brandedshades.com
brandedglassesdirect.com
bettereyesite.com
lensplanet.com
professionalglasses.com
boostq.com
specspeople.com
I ordered lenses from the site contactforlenses.com however did not receive dispatch notification. I emailed them and they told me that the lenses were on back order and that they would email me when the lenses were available. What good was that to me, when you need lenses you need them almost right away. I cancelled the order and received an email that the lenses would be dispatched shortly, however I had already bought again from my regular supplier, so emailed back to tell them to cancel.
A few days later and a few emails to them later I eventually got the cancellation email and was told that the refund would be in my account within 2-3 working days. Well it didn't arrive so I called them, some guy with an Asian accent answered and told me that the money would be in my account within 2-3 working days, I argued that I had already been told that 4 days ago but the money wasn't in my account. He just reiterated that it would be in my account shortly. I asked them for their company registration number in Jersey however he told me that he was not allowed to give that information to me. ???### I told him that is what a company registration number was for, so that people could check out businesses however, he was adamant that I would not get the number. This made me more suspicious, so did a little research and found the company operating from a defunct PO Box, noticed that they have 10 websites selling lenses, glasses and sun glasses, I also noticed that they go use various pseudonyms. Names I have come up with in this organisation are: Andrew Miller, Sarah, Kelvin Carter, Arun, Himanshu and Sunil.
Each one of their domain names have been registered by proxy by Go Daddy, which means the real registrants name is hidden. They use a server for all of their sites mentioned above, hosted by oriensoft.com based in India.
I emailed contactforlenses.com again with all of my findings and copied them in on an email that I sent to their webhost: samir@oriensoft.com and another that I sent to Jersey trading Standards tradingstandards@gov.je. Two hours after I sent those emails, I received an email from "Sarah" from contactforlenses.com notifying me that they had made the refund.
Success, I received the refund today, 1 month after I initially give them my money, however I am convinced that I would not have received anything back from them If I had not aggressively pursued them in the manner I did.
I would advise strongly about paying money to any of the websites named above, and in future just beware who you buy from on the internet. First make sure they have an address and not a PO Box number, you can check the address on Google to see what telephone numbers are attached to it. Make sure the have a Geographical number, not 08, 03 or mobile numbers. go and check the domain on domaintools.com, if it comes up that there is no registrant details, don't buy from it. Lastly call the number on the website before you make a purchase to ensure there is a real person behind the business, if there is no phone number available then you don't want to be dealing with them.
NO Doubt the people behind the sites mentioned above will continue registering domains and putting up websites, therefore Don't get caught out by them again, Check before you buy.
Safe Shopping

Ordered my lenses about a month ago. Little communication - eventually after chasing them, I got an email from 'customer service' advising that I should note that lenses can take 3-4 weeks to be made.
They obviously hold no stock - will not use again: my advice is avoid!0
