I wonder if we can get hold of any of these people??
I've emailed info@lensplanet .com and told them to cancel my order. If it doesn't happen by monday I'll take it up with my credit card company and get them to investigate it as fraud.
I think you are panicking unduly. The problem with lensplanet is their total lack of communications and bogus delivery promises. I have used them twice and received the correct lenses at the best price available, I just had to wait two weeks for delivery each time. The lowest price is not always without its disadvantages. caveat emptor.
In any case your credit card company won't take any action until the transaction appears on your monthly statement.0 -
I probably am, but I'm also a bit impatient. Regardless of how cheap they are, a company shouldn't be run like that and we shouldn't have to put up with it. Other people have waited up to a month for their lenses!
Then there's the fact you can access anyone's account details by changing the order number, revealing their name, address, postcode etc. Very very poor, unprofessional and what a security risk!! They're uncontactable, the ticket system doesn't work on the website, they've no telephone number, it all adds up to a company that everyone should steer clear of.
I'm cancelling the order and having nothing more to do with them, there's plenty of other companys online that charge £5 more for 3 months supply of lenses and I bet they deliver within 3 days. My credit card company refunds transactions that haven't made it to my statement yet, those transactions billed under recent transactions (citibank).0 -

I've brought contact lenses online from many different companies and the earliest they arrive is in 10 days from the order being made. The majority of companies while they have an office in the UK ship them from outside as it's cheaper.
The best service I seem to receive are from companies with offices in Germany and Ireland.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
I've bought all my contact lenses from www.contactlenses.co.uk in the past, and have been very happy with their service. They deliver within 3 days usually. I wish I'd never tried something new as if this is par for the course its terrible.0

Having a problem with these guys myself at minute. Ordered before Christmas and items werent dispatched til January, despite my emailing them to cancel PRIOR to despatch (as they were taking too long).
So I get the contact, email them asking how I go about getting a return. They say send the contacts back to a Freepost address, another email I get mentions sending them back with proof of postage- mixed advice but I sent them back with proof incase these cowboys came back to me and said they hadnt received so I must not have sent.
Anyway this was at the start of the year, still no contact from them about whether they have received my return and/or when I will be getting my refund!!!! Contacted them twice no with no reply.
This is one transaction I didnt pay for on my credit card, used my debit card as I have ordered with them no problems twice before. I am guessing my bank wont help me out with this??? How did everyone else get on with the refunds?0 -
I did pay for it on credit card, and to be fair to my credit card company (citicards/bmibaby) they credited me the money back within a few days of bringing it up. I eventually got a refund from lensplanet but it was minus the postage. As I hadn't received the goods I argued this and they finally refunded the total amount. I also didn't have to go through with the credit card refund and that was taken away.
Do not ever deal with this company!!!0 -
They seem to have lost my lenses in the post. Now they are claiming that as I have provided the wrong post code, they can not refund or send out new lenses. The address is correct but there was an error in the postcode.
Is this unreasonable? Are there other methods I can persue a refund e.g. credit card company?
Are there appropriate watchdogs to report this to?
Thanks anyone if you can help or shed some advise!0 -
As you have given the wrong postal code, it is your mistake. So I dont think that either the company or the credit card company can do anything in this matter.:A0

I ordered lenses from them with my credit card, and the next day they emailed me as follows:
As per the fraud checking measure adopted by our company, we request you to kindly fax us at 044-800-471-5234 or email us at support@contactforlenses.com a scanned copy of your driving license or any Government issued Identification Card bearing your complete name and photo on it which will help us for identification purpose.
This is a one time exercise to ascertain your identity and subsequent orders will not undergo the above mentioned process.
Thank you for your co-operation.

Can you believe it?
Why in the world would they want ID, especially with a photograph?
How in the world would they know it's me in the picture, anyway?
I have ordered a lot of merchandise online, from jewelry to computers, and have never been asked for ID.
Think of the scams they (or others) could pull off with my credit card info, my ID, a scanned photo, and a terrible data security network (see previous posts).0 -
I have read all of your complaints and I see some of them are very old. I have called them, they do have a phone number on their site. Some of you just dont know how to call out of the country. First you dial 011 to get out of the country then 44 for the country code ( for the UK) I also emailed them in concerns of all of your posting on here and I was emailed back the next day. I only ordered my lenses Dec25th, so I really dont know if they will get here soon or not and these issues could have been old and they problems worked out I dont know yet. But I just wanted too address some of the claims I have seen on here.0
