CY big hugs sweetie you sound down. When you ring your Mum is it for your benefit, hers, habit? Is she watchng a v programme she doens't want to miss? If it is not working then how about cutting back to every other day or arrange a convenient time and ring her once or twice a week?
I could spend an hour sitting here now but I'm going to go and do a HHC and then look at my ather long list of jobs.
Thanks Dusty. I have been making an effort at the behest of my sister who is unimpressed if I don't phone daily. As of next week I will have to phone during the day as I will have to leave about 6 ish on two days for Lifelong Learning courses. It just seems I can't win. She sees my sister on an almost daily basis and they seem to get on so well. I just feel distanced by it all.
Work was horrendous this week. The boss was verging on rude to us today. Still it is Friday night and I have 2 days off. And I have had a really good go on DD2's room and a binbag full of c**p has been evicted.
Love, hugs, spoons and sticks to all who need them. Lynn - hope you hear from your son soon.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I have done nothing today
I've done one load of washing which is now on the airer and I've taken all the stuff to the charity shop. I meet my best friend and her husband for coffee and a mooch around the shops. Brought myself a skirt which obviously I haven't budgeted for
I was in a nice, happy mood til I got home and received a message from Mr O&O which has angered and upset me. I have told him my feelings on the subject but I'm still not happy :mad:
I now plan to do nothing all evening too0 -

CY Hope you get to switch off for the weekend. Does your mum ever ring you? Mine rarely does unless there is something she wants me to sort out for her. I rang today and she moaned for an hour. I know she is down about her op but it is so draining, doesn't make me want to phone again tomorrow.
Lynne it is natural to worry, I be he loves the adventure of his job though
Kittens look all sorry for themselves so will need more love than usual. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hugs to Dusty, CY, LynneJK and whoever else needs them. Have just caught up with the thread.
Hope you get the rest you need this weekend Bossy.
I have no real plans for the weekend but do need to portion up some malt loaf for the freezer, and get the meat out of some crab legs. So there will be more cushion making, dog walking and procrastinating.
'See' you all tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
lynne hope you hear from your son soon.
Cy hugs, you normally sound so positive. Parents can be draining, no matter how much you love them. Hope work is better for you next week.
Ooh bossy enjoy your weekend and a bit of grown up time.
I will catch up with a few jobs this weekend, sitting watching telly in front of the fire with a glass of wine.0 -

Hugs lynne - hope you hear from your son soon but he'll be fine - the locals will be used to this happening and will take him with them I'm sure.
I sorted my undies drawer out before I went to my M&D's and stripped DS's bed. DH left me his work clothes at my M&D's when he went to play badminton so they are now in the WM. I want to try and finish sorting my BR out this weekend as it never got completely finished when I did it the other week as I tried to do too much to soon when I was ill.

DD got stuck in with jobs upstairs while I sorted some things downstairs. Next thing I hear a bang of something hitting the floor and then she shouts down that she's smashed her light bulb  I go up and she'd tried to clean the light fitting by standing on her bed, but had unscrewed BOTH parts instead as she "wiped" it and knocked the lightbulb out of it and onto the floor. Now our electrics are safe (as far as I know, although I have my doubts at times) but considering the problems we've had in the past I gave her a right ear bashing as the top bit which would have exposed the wires came off in my hand as I went to screw the bottom bit which holds the shade back on! Thank goodness the power was off or I could have been on my way to A&E with the way my luck is! Anyways, fixed the light fitting, put the broken bulb in a box, then used some stale bread rolls to get the worst of the glass fragments up (they were still soft inside) and then vacuumed the bedroom floor in 3 different directions with the small furniture bit. If that hasn't got everything up then I don't know what will! :rotfl:
Just making tea, a new recipe for the second time this week which I got from a programme on the TV. It served 8 though so I've managed to find a website which converts recipes into other serving sizes (without a subscription fee!) and lots of alternatives to the actual ingredients used as its an American recipe and I was only going to use what I have in except for the beef mince and Parmesan I'd purposefully bought. Its smelling delicious and even DD is drooling
:rotfl:
