Another one to add to the list - First Trust Bank - £125 switch incentive

With this bank it all seems very random - some English residents being accepted without question by phone and some NI residents being told they must go into a branch because you can only open an account in branch.
Have First Trust outsourced their account opening call centre to Yorkshire/Clydesdale banks.:D
Yeah, this is my only real concern. I'm tempted to switch my YB account(s) to them once they've paid their incentive, haha.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Sounds like you might need to provide 3 months certified bank statements from YB/CB - presumably signed by a police officer or judge - if you want to switch to First Trust. YB/CB still provide postal statements as a matter of course - whereas most of the other generous current account interest payers require entirely online statements.0 -

Yes...I had that thought as well. Hopefully by the time YB sort out my switch bonus, the offer would still be available and they would have streamlined their processes a bit better.£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)0 -
I've managed to open a First Trust account with no problems whatsoever. The sales person on the other end of the phone was very helpful and I got all the switching forms in the next day's post. I was also set up for internet banking during the phone call.
I don't know what the secret is but I've had the same UK address for 20+ years and made sure I gave my middle name during the id check. Maybe I was very good in a former life.0 -

Any more successes on opening this account to report?
Once I get my latest incentive I will try for this but if it is very hard I may not bother.0 -

Yes this made me wonder. I got a statement in the post and called the call centre to see if I could stop my paper statements and I got the response that it was mandatory to receive paper statements. I was like seriously? I thought she was joking at first but no, that's the reality. Every other account I have is online only as I do not like the waste of paper especially as they mostly go straight into the trash (after they have been properly shredded of course)£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)0 -
Any more reports on switching to this one? I'm calling them today to look at switching.0
