    Would be grateful for clarification re: residents in England, Wales and Scotland.

    Been looking at their website and can't see anything against residents of above applying?

    It is a UK regulated bank after all...?

    Yes cannot see anything either - It looks account is available to all.

    Although process looks the same as YB/CB.

    The offer is available from tomorrow. Will ring them to find out.

    Edit. They use equifax - I have no problems with my credit report but any company using Equifax my application gets referred and possibly a decline. Never happened with Experian - My 2 applications for YB gone through without any problems & immediate accept.

    Nothing in the T&Cs that says the account is only open to residents of NI. Although the laws of NI apply, and it seems their debit card will only be accepted in limited places ("Banklink machines, certain First Trust Bank euro cash machines in Northern Ireland, AIB cash machines in the Republic of Ireland and at post office counters in Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales").

    Seems you also have to provide evidence that you can pay in £1,200 a month, apparently. Though the FAQ does say it doesn't have to be in one transaction.
    To qualify for the account, you must:
    a be a personal customer; [they don't define what one of those is]
    b be aged 18 or over;
    c show that you are able to pay the minimum amount into the account each month (this amount is shown in our sales leaflet);

    Might give them a call tomorrow.

    I need some extra strong pills to go through with another telephone application but £125 sounds good!

    It appears to be more geared to branch applications (and phone to a degree) as YB/CB was/is.

    This from the switching procedure may be a sticking point?...
    2. We need to see proof of your identity and address. Usually, we need your passport or driving licence and a gas, electricity or water bill. If you are not sure what proof we accept phone us on 0845 6005 925.

    I really need to increase the number of donor accounts I have, because at the moment I can't keep up with the offers!

    I saw that too but assumed it's just an incomplete website and they would use CRAs and Electoral Roll like everyone else.

    The T&Cs say:
    3.2 We will verify the identity and address of all applicants, including through the use of Electronic Identification.

    So should be ok.

    I've been contemplating who to abuse! Closed NatWest last summer when it became useless to me (couldn't use it for M&S as the debit card had expired, and NatWest wouldn't issue another).

    Switched HSBC to M&S instead, and now switching M&S to YB.

    Co-op and 2 x Lloyds Vantage have also just been switched.

    Don't want to abuse TSB, Lloyds, BoS, & Halifax - and only closed down 2 Nationwide FDs late last year.

    Oh, and I've a sneaky suspicion Barclays may come up with an offer so they're out.

    Need to get my thinking cap on!

    Maybe enough water has passed under the NatWest bridge?
