Just found your thread and read through.
I shall tune in tomorrow when you have weighed yourself on your new scales......Fingers crossed for you.
I too am on a mission. I've set myself a target of 55lbs, I've lost 5 since I began about three weeks ago.
I'll pop by every so often and keep my eye on you all, and get some motivation from you.
Ps loving the recipes and tips.0 -
Your caramelised oranges sound good, can't help thinking of Bridget Jones though when she cooked that meal for her friends.(I'm sure they're nothing like that!)
I'm testing my resolve by baking today - keep promising work I'll bring in some of my cakes and I've been putting it off - so I've just done blueberry crumble muffins and next is choc n orange cupcakes. However, I do have some WW mallow wafers, which are only 1 point, so I've just had one of them with a cup of tea for a sweet treat.
Tandoori chicken for dinner, not sure what with - probably more cauli rice!
Next two Fridays I am out with friends which will involve eating and drinking, so will have to choose carefully there.
My group leader just texted me saying how well I'm doing, which is nice. Great to see some more people joining this thread as well isn't it?Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods

We have yoghurts that are lovely and only 1 point. They come in cheesecake and crumble flavours and make chopped fruit feel very decadent and a really sweet treat. Even better with a 1 pt meringue nest when only sugar will do.
I have been on a huge munch for the last 3 days and not counting points so will have out on at tomorrows weigh in but hey, next week is another week. I'm planning to up my exercise next week and see if the extra effort spurs me into eating better.
Hope everyone's weigh ins go well this week.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
have a serious addiction to oranges developing, caramelising them may just push me over the edge lol0

Yeah I got some of those this week for work, as I'd been having the Mueller choc mint desserts which are 3 points.
Well I made my tandoori chicken, I had it with cauli rice and peas, and a tomato, onion and mint salad (sorry, my plate presentation is lacking!!) 10 points all in....Over futile odds

Welcome Lessons Learned and hiya Ali T, Happe and CWR - must say that curry looks delicious.
Day 21, 41 points.
I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 15lbs - I am really pleased with that. Obviously I have a lot to lose so it is to be expected to get a good loss in the first few weeks. However scrupulously recording everything and making proper food every day is working. My points allowance has gone down to 34 so I need to be on it this week.
My aim for February is to lose 10lbs,0 -
Wow, 15lbs is amazing - well done!If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Thanks very much Ali T. I have just nipped back to say that having audited both freezers I am on a no going big food shopping for at least two and possibly three weeks. I can pick up fruit and veg at the market on Saturday. That annoying BBC programme about cutting shopping bills has made me acknowledge I am a bit of a food hoarder. Time to eat all the half price Waitrose bargains - no doubt there will be more to buy in March!0
-
Well done you. Fantastic start.
Yes I watched that programme. I felt rather smug until I worked out how much I had spent on food in January:eek:
Whilst I am not Quite in that family's league for hoarding and overspending it has made me take notice. So this month I shall be cutting back on the spending, and will start meal planning and shopping from my existing stocks too.0 -
OMG twice in a week I find myself in bed watching TV at 7.30 at night I need to get a life.
Hi Lessonslearned - the food hoarding resonated with me.
Day 22, 27 points. I missed lunch and just ate dinner instead. Probably not a good plan in the longterm but I am not hungry so I am going with it. I have a lunch out tomorrow so no doubt it will balance itself out.
It is snowing very heavily now - that can !!!!!! right off I have got a lot to do this week!0
