  • Well , sensible - no choc & making an effort plus spending at least 5 hours today clearing out drawers etc might put me on the road to a loss . I'm the proud owner of 7 Yep 7 empty drawers .
    I bought some weights , 2.5kg in total , a yoga mat , a exercise ball & a wheel thing for when I a a bit more into exercise .
I'm also thinking ahead to when I can maybe feel clothes are loose and eventually downsize them.
I have no weight target in mind , though 6 stone would be so brillant .
I've hid behind family work stress for my weight , joined club after club.
This time , I'm right in mindset for weight loss not for a big occasion , but for my health , arteries & life quality . So thank you to my virtual new freinds , whoever you are we are all in this together .

Thanks Tootallulah! Re. the coat buttoning... I haven't buttoned or zipped a coat since 2005! But the plus size coat I bought last year does now do up, which I'm counting as a major milestone :D

I'm in my early fifties, hitting "that" time of life for a woman, and started to feel almost disabled by my weight. Lots of health problems, not diabetes yet thankfully, but hoping that weight loss and exercise will help me reduce or do away with blood pressure meds. I've already noticed that my asthma is much better after losing just 12lbs.

There's no option for me health wise but to lose weight, so I've finished with excuses and womanned up! I know there'll be ups and downs, I've yo-yo'ed before, but I want to see an overall downward trend now so I can enjoy life.

Thanks for this thread and for the welcome - I'll need all the help I can get!

Hi again, just weighed in for this week and I'm -3.5lbs. That's a good result after the small gain I had over half term, so I'm happy. That brings my total for this year to 15.5lbs altogether!

Brilliant weight loss jps I would be useless if I worked in education, week-ends are often my downfall.

Evening WWDIT I hope that you are enjoying the clearing out I only have seven drawers, so clearing 7 looks radical to me.

It looks like this is the thread where weight loss is all about being more healthy, staving off bad knees, ankles and diabetes. Basically loving life and living it well.

    GO US.

Day 50, 28 points, three meals and one snack doesn't end up as many points, it is so much easier when I am at work.

    Day 51, 36 points.

Always important to seize the moment in my experience jps. Speaking of which, the proposed holiday to France has been shelved in favour of two weeks in Malaysia tra la, tra lee. We are going in August so I have an even better incentive to stay on this diet. A fifteen hour flight and being fat do not go well together.

It is so cold at the minute I am really not sure why but this winter has felt endless. I am still supposed to also be finding a short break for me and my Mum to see a bit of sun. No wonder the blooming mortgage decreases at a snail's pace..........I need to get a better plan in hand.

Day 53, 43 points. Today, whilst within points, I have fallen well of the wagon by eating a bag of Lion Sports mix (15 points for 150g if it appeals) instead of proper supper.

I am out for breakfast and lunch tomorrow it will be a much reduced week-end.
  • Ahhh tootallulah, I think it's a precarious line and I know I can easily cross it at anytime and eat god knows what, and that gets me down sometimes, that this has to be my life forever really and the days of carefree eating are gone. Friday, I thought I really want a big pile of chips and egg with loads of ketchup, so I did and had to use up some of my extra weeklies. My husband looked a bit shocked and said 'should you be having that?' I growled back 'I'm having it, I don't care!!'

Week 8 for me and 23lbs gone. I was sorting out my wardrobes at the weekend and putting off trying on some pairs of jeans that I'd kept because if I still can't do them up I'm going to be disheartened.
