Hiya everyone :hello:Today is meal plan day. I'm googling away like made to find some inspiration but I like the sound of that Mongolian beef! I'm starting to wonder if doing an online shop is really saving me money. Yes I can control the budget better and I write a list and just get what I need but I'm missing out on whoopsies. Sometimes I used to pick up mega bargains in morrisons but then again I also used to pick up a load of impulse buys!
I agree with you re the online versus sm shop but maybe you need to do a few more months budgeting and then you'll have the strength to avoid the impulse buys :rotfl:
We had another NSD today. We went out for lunch as DH has changed to lates/nights as of today for the week and we had a cheap and ok meal but that's a different budget
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

well today I had to go and buy did stuff for school camp but that's from a different budget so it's a grocery nsd in my eyes! I've taken an inventory of what's in my freezer so going to take lynnejk's advice and check out the recipes at the start of the thread because I do have a full store cupboard! I have enough could cous, brown rice, wholemeal pasta and tinned tomatoes to feed a small army!Trying to fix my finances whilst living with 3 kids and 2 cats! 👩🏻👧🏻👦🏻👶🏼🐱🐱

Need to be more disciplined. Especially as I wasted a few carrots.
Doing much better with buying frozen caulis, no longer find half in bags in fridge needing throwing! Easy to use aswell.
Need to menu plan and do much better in july!0 -

Indeed...much as I like finding the bargains for the stockpile, the stock still needs to be managed. I've had to tell OH no more YS as we need to run the fridge down and defrost it.
I would use an online shop mainly for ambient stuff for a bit of a stockpile, then top up on veg, diary and protein - all of which you can find some bargains for on occasion.Keep reading books!

Hi Lynne, yes everything fine thanks. Just finding the hours are passing me by in a fast flash. I only work pt, but between work life and home, i seem to be forever meeting myself coming backwards. Following a few hiccups in our month I'm already over budget with a week to go! good thing we are now well stocked although I may need more strawberries/fresh fruit whilst they are on offer!************************************

Have been very absent from here this month but have been keeping track of what I spend and updating the signature.
Hope you are all well.
Managed to convince OH last night that he didn't need to go out to the shops to get something to eat as we had stuff in the freezer (he does all of our cooking). Thankfully he found two tubs of vegan curry for us to eat and some flat breads and rice. Was lovely and meant we didn't have to go spending!
Had to throw out quite a bit of fruit/veg on the weekend and we both felt incredibly guilty about it. Not quite sure how it happened either as we bought the same amount as always and haven't been eating out. Will try to watch that more carefully in future.
A shop will need to be done shortly though but I'm trying to put it off as we're going to Glastonbury next week and I hate doing small shops. Keep your fingers crossed we can stretch/get ourselves invited to our parents for tea!!My debt free diary
