Hiya everyone :hello:
Piglet - sending some get-well vibes your wayHi all just a quick question do you include pet food/ cleaning products etc in your budget or food and drink only? I need to do this from next month as spending way too much (5 of us) but not sure what things to include in budget, thanks! XEverybody deals with things different but most seem to include food, cleaning stuff, nappies, pet food etc. It is entirely up to you what you want to include in your budget.
For example I don't include alcohol in my budget I keep that separate in another budget. I don't have pets or babies so don't need to include anything there either so mine is basically food & cleaning stuff.
Denise
There is DH and myself and we each have a small personal budget each month and separate budgets for wine and petrol. HTH

I have been keeping track on a spreadsheet. Food spends currently at £140.67/200.
I've got two more weeks on this. I'm not sure I am going to be able to achieve it. First month at this though and will show me where to cut. I am including the bill when we eat out as we wanted to show how much was being spent on food generally. I think that is the first area to cut back on!! Hope everyone is well0 -
I'm up to £36 now, which is about on track.
Re what to include, I only count food and drink, as I don't feel the need to budget household stuff. I have a problem overspending on food, so that's what I count!!

Hiya
We managed another NSD today.
I certainly find that having a monthly menu plan, bulk buying, batch cooking, a weekly shopping list and not 'popping' into the shops makes a big difference to staying in budget.
We don't necessarily stick exactly to the menu plan but being the meals we have are home cooked, with the basics in the freezer or stock cupboard, we can move meals about the weeks as we fancy.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday and if you are new to this challenge please ask anything you want to know and someone will help - we're a friendly lot on here
