First April spend today for me £55.85 in Aldi. I am being super good and have meal planned then did the whole shop on Tesco.com it came in at £98! So then I went through mysupermarket.com to compare with Aldi and have done a split shop - mostly from Aldi. It should be about £20 quid cheaper in total. It could have been even cheaper but it's my first proper big shop in Aldi and I got tempted by trail mix (it tastes so good), blueberries and pizza!! Not even on my meal plan! But hey it's a startDebt 1 - Loan £10K (minimum payment £145)

Good evening,
First shop of the month done (spread over 3 supermarkets to make best use of my vouchers). A grand total of £128.75.
Quite happy with this as quite a social week coming up - I have 2 extra adults this weekend, plus dinner for 7 adults and 2 kids on Sunday. Monday I am looking after 2 children (favour for my friend) so giving them lunch and tea. So a few extra mouths to feed but only need to pick up the roasting joint from the butcher. We go away in 10 days and reckon I will need no supermarket runs before then.
Sat am doing my cooking for 2 weeks and smoothies for 2 weeks. Have checked freezer and plenty of space. Am now working out all the meals.
Feeling quite positive - or is that because I finish work tomorrow for a few weeks holiday? :j:beer:Grocery Challenge March: £253/£250:eek:still so much of the month left!!!!!!!

On another note, I swear I used to be on a thread/challenge where it was something to do with your purse, you had x amount to spend on groceries but then a bit in the purse to put aside in case you bought for next week? (Along those lines!) I can't remember what it was called!
It was Mothership's second purse system. There's a list of links on page one underneath the recipe lists.
Thanks for some bean ideas. I have Jack's books, and I'll try her spag Bol soon. It's the Easter hols soon, so I'll have a bit more time to play.
Night all,

Hello everyone,
I have just totted up my March totals as we are about to head off to the Highlands with a group to a s/c house so I can say my March spend was £250.99 and my running total for the year is now 20.64% against a flat-line profile of 25% (in other words I have saved a bit for Christmas splurging from within my annual budget!)
Good to see some familiar faces. I might even contribute a bit more if the wi-fi is any good in the rental house!
Good luck everyone

Could I be put down for £200 this month please. Have had to increase it from £180 due to a change of diet which is costing more, went over £200 in march but hoping to come in at £200 or less this month now I have a better understanding of what we can have. Doesn't take away from the fact the food I need to get costs more thoughNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I completely lost the plot with my food spending last month and know we went way over.
This month I am going for £70/wk or £280 for April. I have received a Mr T delivery today for £68.32 inc delivery and have already booked another for next Thursday. Today's delivery is for March, next week's is for April. I find if we shop together at the weekend we can spend £150 in Mr T easily:eek:
