  • I wonder claire if the trail mix would be sutable for gronola I shop in aldi loads and I am looking for something good for gronola.

It could work. It has coconut shreds, broken brazil nuts, large raisins, banana chips and little chunks of papaya and apricots. It would probably make a nice tropical granola if you toasted it with some oats seeds and honey.

  • Second shop arrived from Tesco tonight. £22.82 for the bits I couldn't get in Aldi. So that is £78.67 for the week so far. I normally spend £100 so I am feeling chuffed with myself.

Very disappointed with the market; will stick to trying to get to the one closer to home using my dinner time once a fortnight or so.

Went to ASDA yesterday (reminded me why I usually shop first thing on a Monday morning!) I spent £50.29 which should see us set for everything for the month except oven chips, milk and bread.

I also have to go and pick up a couple of boring things today whilst I go and see my mum for Sunday lunch. Currently on track to be under budget which is always nice.

Next month we have a rugby trip which will be very expensive and bf will also be away for two weeks after it so I really need to save some money wherever possible

Spent £13 in M&S last night on a dine in for £10, a small bottle of pop and a tub of ice cream. We went in for a particular GF pud and the ice cream but the pud was in the dine in for £10 (although a smaller version).

I now don't need to buy wine for 3 weeks which will help my GC in April.

Budget for this week was £70 and I am now at £81:eek:

I have defrosted a pack of GF puff pastry and will make an apple tart with brown sugar and some slightly soft apples using a recipe I have found on the tinterweb.

    Hi,

Can you please put me on for £120 for this month. That includes all food, toilettries, cleaning items etc. for one person.

I'm hoping to whittle it down month by month, however I need to stock up my freezer and cupboards again as I had a REALLY tight month last month and as such had to use up most of my store cupboard and freezer stuff. I am literally starting again with an empty freezer and empty fridge (and near empty shelves). It's actually quite exciting!

    Thanks so much!

Oh I'm so glad I've found this thread/challenge! Let me introduce myself :)

I'm wiggly, I live with my OH and DD (nearly 4), DS (9 weeks old) and 2 stupid cats. I've been using YNAB for a year now and have reduced my DF date from 2017 to this June, but since the baby has been born Im struggling with the food budget. Too many snacks and treats and easy food. I've got a referral to slimming world so have joined the to lose weight and also be better with my cooking again, kinda forcing my arm.

So I'd like to aim for £350 in April. March was insane (I too am pretending it didn't happen) and tbh feb wasn't good either.

So, going to plan my meals better, get a stocked up freezer again so when I'm home alone with the children I can just reheat something (9 week old won't let me cook yet).

    So hello

    Hi everyone
I'd like to sign up again for £250. Glad to see the back of March, had a shockingly bad month. Not just groceries but money in general. Due to one dd's birthday, 2 school residential trips and 2 brownie residential trips that all needed paying. Was over by about £ 50 buy the end but onwards and upwards. Not had a chance to read all of the posts but will have catch up later after my dinner and a haircut. Good luck everyone x

    Hello,

I haven't been on this site for quite some time but recently I got engaged and want to cut back. I can't seem to manage it without being accountable on here!

Could I please join you all and put myself down for £250?

I've spent £29.84 on a tesco delivery which is coming later on today. It's actually made up of lots of boring bits and pieces :( I'm using lots of jack Monroe recipes and I'm hoping we can make some cake or bread during the week to break things up. I can't bulk buy crisps or chocolate or I'll just eat them, I have no self control at all :-/.
