Lucky me! Bf did my shopping for me yesterday as I am currently on crutches, and he doesn't want the money for it! It came to about £15, so that's a great start for me for April. I don't feel guilty either, as I often feed him, so
. Love free stuff!! Still need a few things, which the children will help me with later in the week.
Also, got some pork out of the freezer for dinner tonight, but now going to a friend's for pizza, so the pork will do tomorrow now. Two results!!

I'm going to be away for just over a week, so I'm going to aim for £120 (random figure pulled out of the air!)
I spent £40 today, so £80 left for the two weeks remaining!0 -
Please put me down for £200 again for April. Hopefully it'll be less now that I started going to Lidl, but we'll see.0

Hello all
Can I join in again this month please? I'm going for a £150 spend this month, which is going to be tricky. I spent way over that last month, but I have a few big bills coming in April, and I can't afford to spend any more.
I had a difficult time last month. I feel very low at the moment, and quite insecure, and I think I spend a lot on food because I feel safe when the cupboards are heaving. I also comfort eat, which is a big problem since my mum died a few months ago.
Last month was my first month on the Grocery Challenge, and it was very helpful to pay more attention to my spending. I discovered I am spending as much now as I was when I was cooking for both mum and I. I need to spend less on rubbish, and stop buying so much which just spends months in the freezer!
So i am looking to do better this month. I spent only £18.15 this weekend, which is a big improvement!
I wonder, has anyone had the same experience as me with supermarket vouchers? I got a m@rris@ns voucher through the post yesterday, and I was so pleased because I could do with the saving! However, when I opened it, it was for £15 off a £120 shop for each of the next 4 weeks, so essentially to save £60, i need to spend £480! What a let down! I would have been so happy to get a £5 off a £40 shop, but do many people really have regular £120 shops??!!?2025 goals

Good morning, all. Glad to report back to the grocery challenge for April with £ 200, starting tomorrow for me with a veg shop at Lidl and Aldi. I am also eyeing up an Approved Foods order as they offered me £ 5.99 off delivery until tomorrow. Depends what they get in the next 2 days if it's worth it.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

April will be a five-week month for us, so going to aim for £300 for the food-and-pets budget.
Also, a £20 household budget rather than the normal £30, since we overspent last month. Baby is expected this month, but thankfully we shouldn't need to spend anymore for his/her arrival and no-one else has a birthday in April that I need to buy a present for.

sign me up. keeping an eye on the spending helps a lot, started the month with a restock. dried goods and bought extra of the items that i run out of all the time, those things like milk and herbs that cause you to spend way above the price of milk in a corner shop. so an extra uht in stock. so 45 to start.0

I've made a meal plan for the whole of April, based on what I have in already. I've aimed for chicken once a week, etc etc and I feel quite good about it. Way back when I first became a single mum, I used to do this all the time, then converted to weekly. I've recently become sick of eating the same few meals all the time, so my month's plan doesn't have any repetition! Will used up some of my mahoosively ridiculous stock, and should make for a fairly frugal month.
Happy with that!
