Can anyone tell me what monthly spend for one person could work out at? what is a good budget I mean ..p.s I love food ..:)
I am going to make a list of all my food stock....and pop in my diary too
I don't have a freezer but would welcome any average costs or cheap idea's to cut down on expenditure - I have very little money until the 28th February
Really sorry if wrong place to post but thanks xx
Hello and welcome! If at all possible I would invest in a small freezer, maybe you can get one free from your local freecycle or freegle group? Some members are happy to deliver if you don't have transport. Or share one with a nice neighbour? I find it a crucial tool in reducing my food waste. I freeze some ingredients or stuff I've made too much of I don't fancy eating again soon.
Great to hear that you love food - does that mean you are cooking from scratch? This will save you a lot of money
Sorry I can't help with planning a budget for 1 person, I'm only just coming to grips with cooking for 3 instead of 4...First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

I aim for around £20 to £25 per week, but every now and then spend £50 or so on things I can stockpile - meaning if I need to I've got everything in (from beans, tinned tuna, flour, and uht, to frozen veg, meat and carbs) to go a month with no spend at all.
You might be surprised how many meals you can make for one from just bits in your cupboards. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

5th £3.98 bad day spent on junk and bread
6th £3.21
7th £13.78
8th £6.82 and £2.07 two different shops
Had a bit of a rubbish week, little shops here and there, not very organised or inclined to be. Hoping this week will be better but today has not started out well. Oh and I'm over budgetbut I think as I bought meat for 2 months I'm not going to worry too much, I will reduce the next budget to account for it.
