Yay muscle food delivery today! Will be well stocked up on meat and potatoes/onions/carrots when that comes :)
Then it'll just be milk, bread, crisps for kids and fresh fruit and veg top ups!
I'm fairly confident I'll stay in budget :)

I've got T**** coming tonight. Its ended up more than I planned /I wanted it to be because I've included some cat food in the order including a big box of 40 pouches for £8. I skipped over all my usual buys, you know buying tinned tomatoes, "just in case" so the bill I think will be about £47. It did include some bulk buys of some cereal bars that were on offer, half price.

I watched with interest the Eat well for less show that was on last week although I did fall asleep so will need to watch the missed bits again. I dread to think how much value in money all the food stockpiled in my cupboards/freezers etc works out at.

Have a good day all x
  • Small spend of £8.28 yesterday and weekly shop done today coming to £56.55, will need to call in Mr M's when passing tomorrow as have forgot 2 things, but will just be under my £70 weekly budget with this.

Did buy 4 easter eggs too today, thought best to start stocking up while they were on offer :) and stocked up on toilet paper (18 rolls) and kitchen paper (6 rolls) and got some toilet bleach and DS1's expensive toothpaste (which was on offer at B&M, less than half price what I normally pay), so am happy to be under budget on what would normally be an expensive week :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

I don't think I can stay within my original budget of £100 for this month and eat healthily, so rather than beat myself up about this I googled 'average spend for 2 people per month' (I didn't include the dogs) The conscientious of opinion was £35/pppw ie £10 per day for two.

Fortunately, I have enough meat in the freezers to last several months, and a stockcupboard that is reasonable. So my reasoning is that I shall spend up to £6 per day (to include the dogs) The extra £4 to be put to one side for bulk buy meat, as and when needed. Then hopefully by planning etc. I should be able to maintain my stock cupboard at the level it is now and live healthily.
Should I do better than this there will be 'smilies' all over my postings at the end of the month!!!!! :)

So I am changing my spend for Feb to £168, I will keep a tally on my signature so there is no need to alter the first page.
  • Just back from the shops with a total spend of £14.15, which includes some bits for a special meal at the weekend. Oh, and a bottle of red wine, so not bad at all methinks!

DH is happily hovering the house so I'll put the laundry away :)

Only managed 2 NSD's as needed veg and milk so spent £23.23 but this included lots of YS good bread (frozen), tinned tomatoes and snacks for a planned uni visit over the weekend with DD (at other end of the country) along with non food items so happy with that. Menu planned for next week so today should be another NSD.
Have a good day all and 'Eat well for less' on at 8pm this evening (BBC) with Greg Wallace to show us how to do it?

Having a NSD today, and really happy to have just set up a standing order for an overpayment on our mortgage of £300 per month, starting tomorrow, from some of the savings that I will make by taking control of our grocery spending.

Saving many thousands in interest and paying it off many years early, just by making this one change, who would have thought?

Enjoying being more in control of things...
Making time for me now. Out with old habits and ideas, and open to change......:j

A total spend of £22.86 this morning but included £3 for anti-fungal cream bringing total spend to £41.69/£250.

NSDs so far this month 3.

Was a bit annoyed with B&Ms this morning as on their website it shows tinned tomatoes at 10p a tin but our local store didn't have any at that price and weren't aware that was being advertised on the website. Seems that just because it's on the website doesn't mean it's available in all stores:mad: Wish it would say that on the website - would have saved me some time this morning as I spent about 15 minutes in there looking, including the time it took to find someone to ask about it.
However if you have a B&M near you it might be worth a look!
