So as promised my shopping exploits. Spent £2.56 in Sains on route to Lidls as I needed toothpaste that son actually will use, hes fussy. And fab softner & basics washing powder. Lidl dont do the small sizes I want. So. Then I went on to there & spent £37.54 on a huge shop. My budget is £40 for the week so I am 11p over, so sue me

I stuggled home with the haul. It was ridiculous to do it actually, I mustnt. But I am pleased with it all.
I just find it facinating how much you can stash in your basket & still the bill is so reasonable. I probably got an extra few days food in that total which will all help trimming off that £20 I've challenged myself to do this month." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Today I spent 67.91 in A*di, 18.24 in A*da and 2.79 in C*op total spend of £88.94. I need to go through my monthly meal plan and check off what ingredients I bought as I don't seem to have bought as much as planned yet it has cost more?! I did buy a couple of unplanned items but not many so I am a bit stumped...
It is another £11 to go in the savings pot;assuming I don't spend anything else now.
Tonight is a chippy dinner as we are out at parents evening. I shouldn't really have promised it as it would have been much cheaper to chuck something in the slow cooker ready to serve up when we got in. Oh well I have planed for 2 takeaways this month.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Evening All.
Need to catch up on the thread and see what lovely tips/tricks/general awesome stuff you lot have been saying.
Went to the Chinese supermarket today and spent £11.20 taking my monthly spend to £130.85. I managed to stock up on noodles, chinese 5 spice (why are the teeny tiny little jars so expensive in the supermarkets?!), rice wine vinegar, tom yum paste and a new bamboo steamer.
Right - off to make Toad in the Hole for tea. Cannot remember the last time I made that. Have a good evening people. How long til pay day?

So, £28.78 spent in Tes** this morning, although £14 of that was cat food.
The oxtail is simmering away in the oven; just needs some mashed potatoes to go with it but looks as though there'll be plenty left over for tomorrow. Had to open a bottle of wine to go in it, as per the recipe, so may have to sup a glass tonight

Haven't spent any more yesterday, but just popped on here to note that as I was using some Sainsbug's vegetable oil (£1.20 for 1L) to make some chapatis yesterday, I noticed the ingredients said "rapeseed oil". 100%!
... Now I have checked Sainsbugs website just and can't see 1L of "Rapeseed Oil" sold as rapeseed oil for any cheaper than £2! :rotfl:
Thanks for that wishus, I checked Asda and it's the same there too
I had no idea! Clever beggars!
Did a shop today, £9.58 I have enough in to have an NSD tomorrow now, if my bread doesn't mess up again
Got a huge pot of chilli on the hob enough for tonight, tomorrow and lots of freezer portions.
I've decided to change my meal plan around a bit, I have to take the kids to a birthday party on Sunday meaning no Roast Dinner but as I have half the veg in needing to be used up I am going to roast the chicken on Friday and do leftovers Sat and Sunday. I have enough meat and food at the moment so I can change things about a bit. My oxtail stew did two nights instead of one so I have saved a meal there too.Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
