    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes, had a lovely, (if quiet) day.

Today we have stripped the lounge wallpaper and now I'm hunting for a wall TV bracket as we are trying to free up floor space.

Tempted to go to a big city tomorrow and look at sofas and buy said wall bracket.

Plan to do a new sofa on interest free, don't know how MSE that is, but we've had our current one for years now. I would plan to pay it off quicker than the interest free period obviously, would hate to have it there in the background to be honest.

Scores on the doors at the end of this week are:

    Y0vg0v - £45 (sooo close to payout)
    P-base -£6.45
    1poll - £30.30
    Val Opin - £2.80
    Ipsos 218/1380

Final adjustment to CC1 with the balance being £5049.12, something went on before we cut the cards up!

  • Well apparently a 'specia' TV bracket is required I'm informed by DH so we can only get it online. Sure there are non branded ones, but I suppose it's better to get the one designed for the TV, so will buy that today - £42 with free delivery, surprised it's cheaper than the non branded ones in B-Q.

Started looking at sofas online and I've found one I like, but will drag DH off to a cit in the next few weeks to bounce up and down on sofas and hopefully earmark which ones we like - plan to purchase these after Christmas in the sales.

Having the TV wall bracket means we can get rid of our TV unit which should hopefully bring in a few pounds towards the decorating, also the current settee should get us some pennies - all helps!

Mr T delivered last night and the total was £45.50 so under my target of £50 and also got a voucher for £2.64 from their price promise so that can come off next week. Just moving the surplus pennies into a separate 'pot' for now, not sure what I will do with those quite yet.

Last weekend of the holidays is drawing to a close. I'm back to work on Wednesday, looking forward to a bit of routine, but the thought of returning after six weeks isn't pleasant! My MSE posts and survey action will decrease now! Plus need to spend the next few nights doing some actual work!! :-(

Desperate to up the OP to the mortgage, will to squeeze an extra £10 out of the budget this month if I can. Should hear about my job regrading fairly soon after I return which will result in an increase, it's just a question of how much!

Off to soft play hell this morning! Not sure what plans are for this afternoon. Still need to turn up little mans' school trousers!

    Waffle, waffle. Sorry!

Glad you had a nice birthday DF0D :D.

If the sofa is interest free then I don't see a problem with it, my dad had the money to buy his but still did it interest free to keep his money in the bank. Weve done that as well and the term goes soo fast if you decide not to pay off sooner.

My posts will also decrease from now on in, il be asleep on the sofa by 9pm by the end of the week no doubt too!!!

If I don't 'see' you, have a great first week back xx

  • Morning at 5.30am.

Little boy was up early as usual! Then asked for an alarm clock for Christmas.. I told him he is our alarm clock!

Anyhooo been working out mortgage figures this morning, In August we actually paid off £686.26 capital from our mortgage, as well as paying interest of £407.77. That is so depressing - over £400 a month in interest - goes without saying I want that figure under £400 this month, will start tracking that as well to see progress.

Not sure what is planned for today, not much I don't think. I'm still keen for a potter around the garden centre so might do that in peace today and leave the little people with DH.

Last few days before it's back to School, I can't believe these holidays have gone sooooo fast. Littlies start School a week today!

Glad you had a great bday.

I'm back on the diet bandwagon from tomorrow as back at work. Hoping it'll be easier, although usually find it harder with the constant supply of cake and biscuits.

  • Me too Sarah, do you use any method in particular? I'm using WW at the mo as if I stick to it I do lose, problem is my motivation is AWOL at the moment. Same as you though, I am back on it as of tomorrow. Managed to lose about half a stone during the holidays, so better than nothing!

Fleabay sale just gone through, so another £2.22 off CC2, bringing the total to £679.84. Was due £100 from a family member months ago that was promised again last week, but hasn't materialised, relying on this to fling at CC2 if I'm going to get anywhere near the £500 total this month.

Absolutely no get up and go today at all. I'm still in my PJ'S!

  • Rather chuffed as well that all this MSE-ing is rubbing off on DH, he hunted around for another TV bracket and found one on offer for £5.99 from Tesco, even with a few quid delivery, we saved loads. Wallpaper all stripped from the lounge and we've started repairing the walls ready for paint when pennies allow us to buy it!
