  • Hi DFOD

I do the same with my CCs as the balance is at 0%.
A word of warning though - it can lull you into a sense that you have more money than you actually have so I think of £3,000 as my new £0 - if I drop below £3,000 on my S123 a/c then I'm "overdrawn". It keeps my head clear and my feet on the ground!

My mum just lent me £3,000 to keep in my S123 a/c so I can keep the interest (hers is "full) so now £6,000 is my new £0.

If you're not careful you can end up spending the money and being left with the debt:eek: (I got burned with this about 7 years back).

    I'm sure you're in control though! :)
    Mortgage at end 05/2007: £90200
    Mortgage at end 08/2018: £71646 paid £18354 (20.5%)
    MFD: :eek:Original:05/2042:eek:
    Car Finance: £8225 : £6392 (22.2% paid off)
    CC Debt (0% until 06/2020): £5640 : £4400 (21.7% paid off)

Age of Money at 31/08/2018 = 23 days

YNAB is changing the way I live my life....and spend my money!!

Thank you for the advice, I will be very careful, the only thing that will bug me is paying the money out when I had enough saved up!!!

  • I forgot I knew what my wages will be this month as last month was a 'normal' month!

Soooo.. scores on the door are:

CC2 down to £686.24. Aware of some pennies I have coming in and the fact I should get payout on both YG (another survey done today, £5.50 to go) and on OP - I'm going to really push myself and aim for a below £500 target on this by next payday. It probably won't be possible, but I'm going to push myself all the same!

Mortgage OP of £100 made, total OP this year is £607.43 against a target of £1000.

Will update mortgage figures and CC1 when they have updated.

P-cone registration worked and I'm now a member, so chuffed the sign up link came good!

We took a load of stuff back to B&Q today including a mop head that we got from Tesco by mistake! Off we then went to Tesco. Promptly spent it again on screws and wonder web, but in total it cost about £8, instead of £20.

And finally just set up my DD for the 123 card, so another thing ticked off the list!

Just hope the weather is better tomorrow, I hate being stuck in and the littlies need to be out doing stuff!

  • Lovely day out with the littlies, did have to succumb to a cream tea AND ice cream though! It's my birthday week so it's rude not to have cream teas most days!

Not long home, they are wiped out and we are going to watch Game of Thrones and Bake Off before we collapse into bed!

In MSE news, I finally got my own login details, so I'm online - the £24 charge has been applied but hoping that comes off soon as I've set the DD up!
