  • Bizarrely you opened your account(s) before me, but we have everything. Cards, pins, online sorted and i've made our first purchase with an Asda pizza (double cajun chicken, ham, pepperoni and chilli oil)!

They obviously see you for what you are SJ - a better class of customer!

  • Feel more awake this morning despite little man wanting a cuddle at 1.30am and then little girl wanting to come in our bed, so Dh got chucked out at about 2am.. both of them slept till 6am though so that's a lie in for me!

Made the payment to CC2 of £31 bringing the balance to £967.84.

I will need to be careful with the S&ntander account and keep the balance above £1000 - it might mean stockpiling debt payments until nearer payday which isn't a massive issue, I just like to see the figures coming down, but I also want the interest in the account as well!

    Ending the week with £27,50 on 1poll, £43,50 on y0vg0v, £6.35 on p-base and 103/1380 points on Ips0s.

Waiting for over £50 of TCB to track and also as it's my birthday within the next week, I've had £50 from my lovely MIL which is burning a virtual hole as I want to spend it, for once I'm not putting it towards the debt and plan to treat myself, being a good MSE'er I could put it towards my hair cut and colour today.. I'l keep thinking about that one! Lol!

  • Your doing really well with the surveys, brilliant work.

I've started spending presents on myself too, if you fancy a cut and colour go for it:) I do my own hair £4 a box, but when I see people with salon hair there really is no comparison - even my 85 year old grandma has better hair than me :rotfl:

  • I've had about £250 over the years and actually quite enjoy the surveys - I would say its the most consistent in terms of being picked for surveys and not being screened out.

  • So hair done, so much darker than normal, but that's put paid to the roots for some time (depending on how bad the grey grows!!)

Put the time to good use and made a to-do list of what I need to do MSE wise:

    * [STRIKE]Cancel 2 life assurance policies DH has (only small and realised the ways in which he would have to go to ensure payout were so specific - obviously he's not going anywhere anytime soon!![/STRIKE]) - DONE

    * Look at our pensions at the same time to see what we would get based on the estimates, as I only ever look at these when the statements come through - no idea what the overall picture is

    * Look at beneficiary payments through pensions and ascertain if we need additional life assurance.

    * Start a food shopping challenge as of September to see if I can do our food shopping for £50 a week

    * Start doing Val Opin surveys again to try and up the earnings for Christmas

    * Start doing nectar surveys again, (will see how this goes, as was getting constantly screened out)

    * look at previous mortgage statements to see what our daily interest has been (haven't a clue)

    * close remaining bank accounts with FD

    * set up DD for S&ntander CC as this means I get the fee for this card refunded for the first year.

Quite a list actually when I look at it like that!

Been out puddle splashing and two very wet little people now showered and in their PJ's

Because it's the last week of the hols and my birthday coming up, we are treating ourselves to a chinese tonight, can't wait!!

Quick question. Does the CC payment have to come specifically from 123 current account to have the fee refunded?

  • States the fee is refunded if the DD is set up within 30 days from any 123 account. Hope that helps..

  • You should find that the fee is charged and refunded fairly quickly. It all went through very smoothly for me and I didn't have to chase them at all.

So I could change DD from my FD account. Wait for first payment, then wait for the refund, then change back?
