Happy to have any support Sarahevie!
A bit gloomy here today, off to swimming soon and then I'll work out whether we are off for a walk or going jumping in puddles! Definitely no washing being done here, rain is forecast by 3. In fact the whole of next week is looking pretty naff - might need to rethink our wish list of days out!
All quiet with the bank accounts, D day is tomorrow. Sold two item on bookface, dropping off some today for £10. Got two more listed on fleabay, but no watchers / bids as of yet.
Another y0ug0v survey done this morning, £6.50 from payout.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

In a bit of a funk this afternoon after re working the budget a bit more after the no more tax credits news yesterday.. feeling a bit like I have a massive uphill battle to climb and feel weary of counting every.single.penny.
The loss of £70 is a big impact of lots of little budgets, so I've had to pinch pounds here and there..
Plus DH's CC bill arrived with £60 more than expected this month, something I'd forgotten about.. Ability to hit target on CC2 next month will be affected now. Think I said I was going to clear it by the end of October, so must still aim for that.. determined to get the little s&*$ gone by then!
Ignore me anyway, I'm just tired..DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

You have every right to be fed up. You carefully budget to be within your means and pay off your debt and then you're hit with a £70 reduction. You'll manage it though. And once those CCs are done with, life will get a lot easier and you won't have to worry about every penny any more. Being a MFW is a luxury and you don't have to stick to it every month!
I will never understand how my Mum managed after my Dad left. 4 kids and no job, and she somehow kept the roof above our heads. It must have been soul-destroying buying exactly the same cheap horrible food week in, week out, and not having a single night out or holiday for about 7 years. I admire anyone who lives to a tight budget with children.
I suppose you might feel like you wish you could treat the kids more or that they will resent not having all the latest stuff. If they're anything like me, they will grow up in awe of you, proud of parents who brought them up brilliantly and taught them the value of money.
You'll feel better tomorrow after a sleep.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Your certainly not alone in feeling fed up with the whole unfairness of the slog. I get it constantly.
- why am i sharing a room with two of my kids so the lodger can have my room?
- why am i working two jobs when there are others never done a days work in their lives?
- why do i buy most of my kids stuff on facebook selling sites?
We all grapple with it, I believe it will be worth it in the end, I think that's why I put up with the long term frugal living. In my experience looking to the bigger picture is the only way to get through.
I've just had a look at my mortgage statement five years ago my daily interest was £25 a day, its now £6 a day, its motivated me to stick with it.HOME

Woah.. Sarah Evie and Amy - reality check for me right there. I'm sorry for complaining.. There are people worse off than me and here is me moaning about £70.. Respect to your Mum Amy.. If it is one thing I don't sweat that much, it's buying stuff for the kids.. I figure they are clothed, fed and we are there for them and spend lots of time with them - more than anything, they are loved beyond belief! Saddo alert, but I drew a heart on their face last night when they were asleep - do this sometimes if they've been really good and they think a fairy has been in and kissed them during the night for being good - so nice to see their excitement this morning when they realised looking at each other at the breakfast table they both had fairy kisses! We have a fairy door in the garden and I think it's nice to have some magic in childhood whilst you can!
Sarahevie, I feel your frustration as well. But you have done amazing and I know you will smash this mortgage in time..
As you said, I'm feeling better this morning. Looked around for other jobs and there is a potential job I could apply for, I just need to decide if I want to juggle three jobs and be out double the evenings I currently am for about £70 a month - replacing what I've lost with tax credits!
Raining here again - have to confess I am so glad we cancelled our camping break next week. we need to rethink our wish list as the weather app shows rain from now for like forever!!! Need to identify some wet weather activities that are free!
Off to get School bags for the littlies today and to visit Sain$burys whilst their 25% off clothes is on to get DH a pair of shoes and see if they is a toy or two I can stash away for the birthday party box.
Logged onto FD expecting fireworks and all is quiet, my money is still sitting in my account, so don't know when that transfers over. TCB all quiet, surveys seen pretty quiet at the mo as well. Spent loads of time on the phone to BT last night ensuring the reduction in monthly cost was going through as they couldn't put it through last week as they are updating our exchange. All through and as of today, our bill has reduced £12 a month - looking at the positive side, that's only £58 left to find to make up for the lost £70.
Trying to decide as well how many days a week the kids have school dinners, I know they are free, but I'm not that impressed with the dinners on offers, well more specifically the puddings.. Then I wonder if I'm mad not to just go with free lunches 5 days a week.. any advice out there?DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Wow, loads going on and loads of things whizzing round your head! We go with packed lunches to be honest. Major reason is we know he'll eat what we give him, and DS1 really struggles with the noisy dinner hall. Packed lunch gets him fed and out quickly to play!
I must say Santander have been very swift opening our account, though i haven't switched. We have everything now apart from the last code for online banking. Think i'll run out of time to change our council tax bill for August, but i was aiming for it to be fully operational by for September anyway (im only moving council tax, first utility, water, mobile and broadband). Credit card's and pins have arrived so they'll start today and replace tesco.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

Thanks SJ - nice to hear that some parents do packed lunches, other parents are making me feel like i'm a bit nutty!!!
FD bank account closed and everything over in S@ntander, PIN arrived for the CC today, just need the CC to arrive so I can start buying fuel etc on it.
Spent a bit today on last minute School stuff and a few things we didn't especially need, but I got the kids a few tiny treats, £2 truck and £2 dolls clothes - they were made up!
Went to a friends for a few hours and then home, bath and bed. We just watched the first episode of Game Of thrones, not watched any of it before and we are in desperate need to something to get stuck into - enjoyed the first one!
Have got a few pounds to pay off CC2, but I'll do it tomorrow and work out where I am.. just too darn tired tonight to do it. Off to the hairdressers tomorrow - will have a serious talk with her tomorrow about how I can cut costs, am returning to my brown roots with blonder tips, hoping I just can have my roots done every so often at a much cheaper cost, if not - I'l lbe back on the £5 box colour! Despite the pennies, am looking forward to three hours of peace tomorrow and warm cups of tea!
Will catch up properly with all diaries tomorrow.. Night!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
