It took from 5th December until the middle of March for mine to be sorted with Yorkshire Energy and Scottish Power but in the end it was all there. I did take a meter reading and submit it to YE on the day they went bust Thanks to this site alerting me), before the website went OOA but as SP took me on a tariff that was really similar (they have to) it all worked out

It’s such a pain to sort out. Our move was the end of July. There is a dispute over the closing meter reading. Said meter reading is still way above where we are even now so I can’t understand it at all. Then the old supplier went bust and the one that’s taken over isn’t interested as we aren’t an existing customer.

I’ve cancelled our DD with new supplier as we had money sitting at both suppliers and neither will bill us properly.

I’ll get round to the complaint today hopefully.

When the new supplier asks for your meter reading, won't it come out in the wash?

Unfortunately they will probably refuse to accept it.

That’s right. They won’t accept it.

So I’ve spent two hours today going through emails, telephone calls and accounts and raised a complaint with the Ombudsman. I’ve still got to save emails and photos into pdfs so I can upload them all to the complaint.

The supplier that took over from the one that went bust said they can not help me and advised to contact the Administrators so I managed to do that today. I’ll wait and see if I get a response. I’m beginning to think we have lost this £200 approx. I’m gutted to think we have.

Whatever happens I will not do direct debit with energy companies again. I will save the money myself and pay upon receipt of bills. This would have been avoided if I’ve done that.

  • In more positive news I’ve reached payout on i-Say again and cashed in £5. Cashed out £6.63 from prolific today as well. Went shopping for pumpkins and Mr T has large ones for £1.50. Bought the kids one each and put the receipts through TCB to claim the cost back on both. Kids were really happy they got a large pumpkin. I’m chuffed they were free!

DH also managed to return some door handles we got last year to a rather well know furniture place. We just hadn’t been able to get there as it’s an hour away so expected them to say no but they gave us £9 credit.

Excellent news on the return.  Inlaws gave me some of that metal tape stuff when we were doing some diy - it was brand new and they just wanted to get rid of it.  When we got home I found we already had a roll, so I returned it to the d-i-y store and bought a new door mat with the credit

I also signed up to Nectar Canvas earlier - had totally forgotten about them, earned about 84 points in about 20 mins

Ah. That’s a thought. I’m trying to build up nectar points for the bonuses. Shopped twice at argos but haven’t got the 100 points credit yet.

  • Cashed out my TCB for the pumpkins and some other cashback so that was £5.39 to start the day. Todays tasks are moving a hotel booking and contacting the window company as they aren’t acknowledging emails to sort out a problem with our doors.
