  • So I reached target 3 for nectar. Thankfully the 100 points for argos credited last night as those bonus points were only available until yesterday. I’m within 177 points of 2000 and there is a new bonus for 500 points for 2 Sains shops so will nip in tomorrow and buy two things separately and then I’m done. Though think I will plod on with nectar surveys one a day. I’m just going to let all these points build up though the year for next Christmas I reckon.

Finished my Christmas shopping this weekend.  I just have some crackers left to get and decide whether to book a Mr T delivery slot or actually go to the shop for the Christmas week fresh stuff. Decisions decisions!

  • I tend to let my nectar points build up for Christmas too, or I spend the nectar points on groceries and put the equivalent amount into my Christmas account.  Same with Shoppix, Huyu and Tesco.  We also get £7/mth cashback from the bank and that goes in the pot too (so that's £84 for the year alone).  I do sometimes wonder what I'm doing scanning receipts for 5p, but then, when it starts building up, I think its worth it - keeps me plodding through those Nectar Canvas things (2 points really ).

  • I’m the same Sandy. I do the same with our Tesco clubcard points and use them on a shop and use the food money for gifts instead.

  • Nipped into Sains to take up their 2 shops for 500 points offer and picked up some oranges for an extra 90 points.

Ipsos i-Say new site is interesting. I’ve got three product tests on the way but you only get 3 points now for screening out of a survey. There does seem to be way more surveys though.

  • Well Ombudsman complaint is done. All evidence from both sides in but unlikely to hear until after Christmas.

Having a cleaning / baking / washing kinda day. Caught up with the few bites of ironing I have and out two items into my fat pile as I call it. They I’ve nearly lost 2 stone now so they are too big and will go when I’ve a big enough pile to justify a charity shop trip.

Decided my focus now will be to clear the interest free balance on the sofas. Have budgeted £40 a month and reckon we have about £600 but all extra money will go towards that and then I’ll have an extra £40 a month to apply elsewhere.

  • Have a few bits of cashback move to payable and also checkout smart payments go over the payout level so have £27.54 to go into the sofa payout fund.

  • Finally managed to get a roofer to do some work we need doing on our chimney and roof tiles. Looking at £800 ish. We have it saved but I hate to see that sort of money going out. At least it makes the roof and chimney watertight before the winter as that’s fairly crucial.

Last Christmas due to arrive today. A few tiny little bits left that I can pick up during weekly food shops but ultimately I’m done!

Bought some reusuable crackers this week which I quite like. Hoping we get a good few years out of them. Made up DHs and DDs so just DSs to do.

DH actually had to go to work yesterday so took the opportunity to wrap up all his Christmas and birthday gifts. So that’s one job off the list.

Quite an active day on surveys yesterday. Pinecone provided, the first in ages and also a YouGov one. Reckon I need 7 more there to get to payout. That would be a nice way to start 2022. Bearing payout on Ipsos. Prolific being very slow for me. I keep getting laptop only ones and can’t be bothered to fire up the laptop.

Sounds good - and the reuseable crackers sound excellent!  I'm doing reuseable more and more for celebrations - I knitted my own Remembrance Day poppy, and still donate to the cause, I just don't take that piece of plastic any more.

  • You're doing so well.

And wow you're like a survey pro!!! I tried the ipsossay site and got no where, just seemed to not qualify for any surveys but still had to spend a lot of time answering questions to say I didn't qualify.

The nectar thing sounds interesting, ice never bothered with nectar points but tempted now. I think I do have an old avios account too

  • Productive day survey wise. Cashed in £3 for pinecone and £5 for Ipsos so Amazon balance at £8. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it works for me in terms of saving for next Christmas.

Picked up a few prolific surveys. Annoying missed out on a £10 one as it took my laptop more than 10 mins to start and I lost my reservation place!!

It’s the weekend anyway!  Have good ones all.
