  • Been a while… sept has been such a busy month and costly too!!  That said I’m pretty happy I’ve stayed with allocated monies, just spent more than intended.

im in the middle of trying to sort a very messy energy supplier fix. New supplier didn’t tell old supplier the closing meter reading. Old supplier massively overestimated our final bill and we’ve had to raise a dispute which could take 10 weeks. In the midst of that, said old supplier has called in administrators. New supplier haven’t produced a bill since June and I cannot get hold of them in any way to speak to them. Once this is sorted I will be moving again for sure!!

Earnings are pretty good this month at £102.84 so far.

BT bill arrived yesterday and due to sorting out our mobile plans we were over £100 in credit so no BT bill this month and it should only be £35ish next month. Some extra pennies to play with during this months divvying up of pennies.

Pot for mortgage OP stands at £222.32/£1000. I had to move a little of it to elsewhere!

    Hiya!

I'm watching the energy supply situation like a hawk now - I'm away for a few days next week, got free wifi there, and I'm going to take my laptop so I can do the tariff dance on 30 September if necessary :)  Hope your situation gets sorted soon.

  • Coming in a bit early on September round up as I want to do the divvying up of the pots today. This month has been woeful in terms of saving with nothing saved but it’s been a spendy month with family.

Looking forward to tightening the belt now though we have most of the family birthdays between now and Christmas.  On the plus side we now own 77% of the house!!

I love that stat about owning 77%. I used to track how much interest I was saving over the projected life of the mortgage (which was paid off a bit early) as a further incentive. Each pound saved was another little incentive
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2226.88/£3000 or 74.23% of my annual spend so far

Well £2.50 gained through nectar vouchers and promptly spent as I’m on a birthday / Christmas present spending spree this week. Majority now ordered and paid for. Just little things to pick up here and there and I’m done. I appreciate it’s October but I like to get it done.

Lost 3 pounds in September which I’m actually super happy with as it was a busy month for lots of reasons and my focus was not weight loss.

Energy supplier sent us gas and electricity bills for another individual this week. We don’t even have gas so the hassle continues trying to get them to sort it out.

Hoping to hear this month about some PPi tax refunds we requested.

And crossing fingers tightly that this month will be our month on PB. 😂

And for a more immediate goal, I’m off to find some fuel today hopefully

I love the 77% owned as well :) it's such a good way to think about it, breaking down into little pieces.  It's got me thinking ... I love a target, maybe I should set a target for new money to go into PB ... I love the mse diaries :)

  • Reach that time of the year where money seems to fly out due to birthdays / Christmas.

Also starting to think about financial goals for next year as well.  Really determined next year will be the year I really get our financial stuff together.

Same here, it must be that time of year.  Planning a new spreadsheet for 2022, and new spending habits.
