Been and looked at some properties this week, just scouting out areas. We have a few potentials but I reckon it will come down to two (that’s if ours goes quickly as well)Two bed semi or three bed detached.Detached needs a new kitchen, a new bathroom, new windows and a wall moving.Semi needs a large bed room converting into two bedrooms. And possibly the replacement of a lean to conservatory to make a more permanent dining area.Difference of £33k between them and I reckon you’d get the semi for less as it’s been on the market 6mths.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hope the hunt goes well - I've been faffing about on rightmove, and I see lots of videos on there now, some of them really interesting.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Been a busy week with house viewings, more today. We’ve been spending way too long on right move as well.Nice bonus this morning with the £500 one off payment from HMRC. I didn’t think we would get it and certainly hadn’t budgeted for it in anyway. For now given a pending move, I’ve just stashed it away from any of the pots and will ignore it.In the middle of a bank switch which doesn’t seem to be going to plan. The old account hasn’t closed, all the money is still there but things seem to be debiting from the new account with no balance. Assume they will waive overdrawn fees whilst it is sorted!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Great news on the £500! But I'd tell the new bank about your assumption of fee waiving - they tend not to be awfully logical about things like that. And do enjoy rightmove

Thankfully all the money transferred over at some point in the middle of the day. So new account up and running.Few more viewings today resulting in one offer but way below what we want. Agents have been to told that another offer may arrive Monday at asking price but I’ll believe it when I see it.We have found another potential house today which looks super interesting and in an ideal location.Few more surveys tonight. Be will at payout on prolific when surveys clear, nearly there on Ipsos and one poll up to £16. Certainly is quicker getting to payout on there. Also nabbed a pinecone survey this week resulting in money earned this month up to £66.42.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Well the housing market is, in a word manic. We are sold but trying to buy is near on impossible. Houses are either inaccessible in that you can’t get a viewing due to the sheer amount of people or you get outbid with people going way over asking. We are trying not to get caught up in on it and the houses we have bid on (and lost due to excessive bidding) we have moved on from.So MSE-ing has taken a bit of a back seat. Plodding on with surveys and stashing money but not really OP-ing until we know what we are doing with the house move.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
