Leanne: you don't need a degree but a bit of basic understanding of economics would help, forming your opinion on the basis of your ignorance is dangerous. Particularly if you think Scotland can be like Denmark and that high wages and cost are 'relative' so everything will be ok.

Shakey: please tell me you are not serious regards you thinking there is parallel s between UK leaving the eu and Scotland leaving the UK?

I posted in response to the post decrying the Danish model. I simply stated that the salaries are higher there than here. Tell me what was wrong with that, it is relative is it not? Surely we have plenty of 'hidden' taxes here so is it really that different?

Absolutely disgusted with the SNP performance in the house today.

Playing party political games with a matter of national security was appalling.

Particularly when polling data, including the most recent - today's Yougov poll, shows more Scots support military action against ISIS in Syria than oppose it.

What happened to the SNP promising to represent all of Scotland and not just the minority who voted for them?

    Disgraceful behaviour - sickening really.

Where as me ... I was awfy proud of them ;)

Good job were not all the same :)

I suppose I should confess to being a terrorist sympathiser since I am in agreement with the SNP's stance today.

I do not believe air strikes will result in the demise of IS.

It's not just the SNP who oppose either, it appears questions have not been answered satisfactorily to sway MP's to vote in favour.

My sentiments exactly re Scottish media. Only usually you're only to happy to take whatever they say as gospel. That's a change of tune for you.... oh wait... there was no 'SNP accussed' in the headline. Scrub that. ;)

But anyway, the YouGov poll is no more valid as a subsample. UKIP at 8% in Scotland would be a surprise to everyone ! It's more likely the weighting was too high re Conservative/UKIP voters to apply to Scotland. So in that case, wouldn't be accurate, and would account for perhaps higher support for airstrikes in Scotland than one would expect.

YouGov, like most of the pollsters, hasn't updated its methodology since the election to reflect modern patterns of turnout. However IIRC the polls were pretty accurate in Scotland.

Just because your mates aren't voting UKIP doesn't mean nobody is I guess. It seems on the high side to me too but that might simply reflect the small part of the sample from Scotland if it's a UK-wide poll. If the sample was 2,000 people you'd expect perhaps 180 from Scotland. To get to 8% you'd only need 14 or 15 UKIPPers.

    I'm guessing sample bias.

Like you said, you need to brush up on your economics to understand the implications of what you are saying.

    while it seems to be true, that all SNP acolytes believe in, and obey each and every instruction of the SNP great all knowing leader;
those of us who have a believe in liberty, democracy, truth and are able to think for themselves, do not believe every utterance of the PM of the UK.

The UK is a better place for the people's scepticism and a worse place of unquestioning obedience, whatever the party or the apparent attractiveness of its objectives.

I think you should have a word with the U.K. Gov about the national debt, show them where they went wrong.

    Nah

You get these sort of idiots on the Internet. Someone (you) once accused me of being a kiddie fiddler sympathiser because I thought Scotland was better off as part of the Union.

Personally I'd consider someone calling me a Jacobite separatist nazi scum to have mental health issues rather than thinking they were representative of anything in particular.

Of course Scotland was dragged kicking and screaming into spending dramatically more than she earns.
